Position: Content Services L3 Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Content Services L3 Engineer to own the design, operation, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of enterprise file-share and content services across hybrid on-premises, Microsoft 365, and cloud environments.

The role requires strong expertise across Windows/Linux file services, NetApp ONTAP/NAS, Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Active Directory, Entra ID, cloud storage, and enterprise data migration. The candidate will ensure that enterprise data remains available, secure, compliant, recoverable, and efficiently managed.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, operate, and maintain hybrid file-share and content-service environments.
- Administer Windows/Linux file servers, DFS-N/DFS-R, NTFS, SMB, FSRM, and NetApp ONTAP/NAS.
- Manage storage capacity, performance, availability, backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and lifecycle activities.
- Own permission and access governance, including ACLs, group models, inheritance, least privilege, stale SID analysis, and ownership management.
- Administer SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Microsoft 365 content services.
- Manage sharing, external access, retention, storage, sensitivity labels, and site/content lifecycle.
- Support Azure Files, Azure Blob, S3-compatible object storage, StorageGRID, and hybrid storage solutions.
- Manage hybrid Active Directory and Entra ID environments, including security groups, GPOs, cross-forest, and cross-tenant scenarios.




- Plan and execute end-to-end on-premises-to-cloud and cross-tenant data migrations.
- Perform discovery, source assessment, ownership mapping, migration planning, cutover, validation, reconciliation, and hypercare.
- Validate migrated data, permissions, metadata, timestamps, and data integrity, while maintaining rollback/recovery plans.
- Provide L3 support, troubleshooting, and RCA for file access, permissions, replication, storage, identity, quota, capacity, and migration issues.
- Automate administration, reporting, permission analysis, and migration validation using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and scripting.
- Maintain technical documentation, topology diagrams, runbooks, migration records, and knowledge articles.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, identity, security, application, data, and vendor teams for issue resolution and escalations.
- Drive automation, knowledge transfer, continual improvement, and reduction of recurring incidents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable security, ITSM, GDPR, audit, and regulated-environment requirements.

Mandatory Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, NTFS, SMB, DFS-N/DFS-R, and FSRM.
- Strong experience in NetApp ONTAP/NAS, including SMB/NFS,



storage networking, quotas, capacity, and performance management.
- Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
- Valuable knowledge of Microsoft Graph and M365 automation.
- Experience with Entra ID/Azure AD, security groups, access models, and hybrid identity.
- Knowledge of Azure Files, Azure Blob, S3-compatible object storage, and StorageGRID.
- Experience with enterprise migration tools such as ShareGate, GoodSync, MIDAS, Datadobi, Komprise, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of data migration, validation, reconciliation, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across identity, storage, network, permissions, and Microsoft 365 layers.

Experience & Qualifications

- 8+ years of relevant IT infrastructure/storage/file-services experience.
- Current hands-on experience in L3 support and enterprise environments.
- Strong experience in Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience working in large enterprise, managed-services, or multi-vendor environments.
- Strong customer-facing communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to coordinate vendor escalations and work across multiple technical teams.
- Strong documentation, knowledge-transfer, and mentoring capabilities.
- Experience with regulated or highly controlled environments is desirable.
