Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java/Spring Boot applications and microservices.

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.

Build event-driven applications and data pipelines using Apache Kafka.





Develop Kafka producers/consumers and work with topics, partitions, consumer groups, offsets, and message processing.

Implement reliable and scalable asynchronous communication between microservices using Kafka.

Develop responsive and reusable UI components using React.js.

Integrate React.js front-end applications with Spring Boot REST APIs.

Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or MongoDB.

Implement application security, authentication, authorization, and API security.

Write unit and integration tests using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.

Troubleshoot application, API, Kafka, and production issues and provide effective resolutions.

Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding and architectural standards.

Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA engineers, and other development teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated build/deployment processes.

Required Technical Skills

Backend

Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17+

Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA

Microservices architecture

RESTful Web Services / APIs

Hibernate/JPA

Strong knowledge of OOP, Collections, Multithreading, Exception Handling, and Design Patterns

Kafka / Event Streaming

Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka

Kafka Producers and Consumers

Topics, Partitions, Consumer Groups and Offsets

Event-driven architecture

Message processing and error handling

Kafka Streams is a plus





Experience troubleshooting Kafka performance/reliability issues is preferred

Frontend

Robust hands-on experience with React.js

JavaScript / ES6+

HTML5 and CSS3

React Hooks, Components, State Management and REST API integration

Experience with Redux or similar state-management frameworks is preferred

Responsive UI development

Database

Strong SQL knowledge

Experience with PostgreSQL / MySQL / Oracle

NoSQL experience such as MongoDB is a plus

DevOps / Cloud

Git/GitHub

Maven/Gradle

Jenkins or other CI/CD tools

Docker/Kubernetes exposure

AWS or Azure experience is preferred

Preferred Skills

Experience developing high-volume, scalable distributed systems

Strong understanding of event-driven and microservices architecture

Experience with Kafka + Spring Boot integration

Experience with cloud-native applications

Exposure to Kubernetes and containerized deployments

Good understanding of application performance, logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

6+ years of professional software development experience.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a distributed Agile team.

Key Skill Combination

Java + Spring Boot + Microservices + Apache Kafka + React.js + REST APIs + SQL

This combination should be treated as the core requirement, with particular emphasis on strong backend/Spring Boot and Kafka experience, along with hands-on React.js development
