Location: Baddi, Himachal Pradesh
Reporting To: Management / Director
Industry: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
1. Job Purpose
To manage and maintain the organization's complete IT infrastructure, network, hardware, software, cybersecurity and ERP systems, while leading ERP implementation, integration, user training, troubleshooting and continuous improvement across all departments. The role will ensure smooth, secure and uninterrupted IT operations and effective utilization of the ERP system for business and manufacturing processes.
1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. IT Infrastructure Management
- Manage and maintain servers, desktops, laptops, printers, scanners and other IT assets.
- Monitor LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, firewalls and internet connectivity.
- Ensure proper backup, data security and disaster recovery systems.
- Manage CCTV, biometric attendance and other IT-enabled systems where applicable.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and ensure proper allocation and tracking.
- Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers.
- Ensure timely resolution of hardware, software and network issues.
- Maintain IT documentation, licenses, warranties and AMC records.
B. ERP Implementation & Management
- Lead the implementation, configuration and rollout of the ERP system across departments.
- Understand and map existing business processes into ERP workflows.
- Coordinate with ERP vendors/consultants for customization, integration and issue resolution.
- Manage ERP modules such as:
- Production
- PPIC
- Purchase
- Stores/Warehouse
- Quality Assurance / Quality Control
- Sales & Distribution
- Finance & Accounts
- HR & Payroll
- Maintenance
- Coordinate master data creation, validation and migration.
- Monitor ERP transactions and ensure data accuracy and process compliance.
- Identify ERP gaps and recommend process improvements.
- Manage ERP upgrades, patches, configuration changes and system enhancements.
- Prepare and maintain ERP SOPs, user manuals and process documentation.
C. User Support & Training
- Provide first-level support to ERP users and IT users.
- Conduct ERP training sessions for employees and departmental teams.
- Prepare training materials and user guides.
- Coordinate with HODs to understand user requirements and operational challenges.
- Monitor user adoption and ensure departments follow defined ERP processes.
- Resolve or escalate ERP issues within agreed timelines.
D. Data Security & IT Controls
- Implement appropriate access controls and user permissions.
- Manage ERP user creation, modification and deactivation.
- Ensure regular data backups and recovery testing.
- Maintain antivirus, firewall and endpoint security.
- Monitor unauthorized access and security incidents.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of company data.
- Support IT audits and maintain required IT records.
E. Pharmaceutical Industry / Compliance Support
- Ensure IT systems support applicable GMP, GxP, Data Integrity and regulatory requirements, wherever applicable.
- Support computerized system validation (CSV) activities for regulated systems.
- Maintain system access control, audit trails and electronic records as required.
- Support internal, customer and regulatory audits related to IT/ERP systems.
- Ensure IT-related SOPs and documentation are properly maintained.
F. ERP Reporting & MIS
- Develop and maintain ERP-based MIS reports and dashboards.
- Provide management with accurate and timely system-generated reports.
- Monitor ERP data quality and identify discrepancies.
- Support departments in generating operational and management reports.
- Analyse system data to identify process inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
1. Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and network management.
- Hands-on experience in ERP implementation and administration.
- Good understanding of manufacturing ERP processes.
- Knowledge of ERP modules and interdepartmental workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of database, backup and cybersecurity practices.
- Good communication and vendor-management skills.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and external ERP consultants.
- Good documentation and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of GMP/CSV/Data Integrity requirements will be an advantage.
1. Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in IT / Computer Science / Information Technology / Engineering.
- MBA/PG Diploma in IT, ERP or related field will be an advantage.
1. Experience
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and ERP implementation/administration.
- Experience in pharmaceutical/manufacturing industry preferred.
- Hands-on experience in ERP implementation, migration, customization and user training preferred.
