You will be part of a dedicated engineering team supporting Toorak Capital Partners, a leading U.S.-based integrated correspondent lending platform that funds residential, multifamily, and mixed-use real estate loans across the U.S. and U.K. Headquartered in Summit, New Jersey, Toorak’s leadership team brings deep expertise across real estate lending, capital markets, securitization, asset management, and credit. To date, Toorak-funded projects have renovated or stabilized housing for 9,000+ families — averaging 500+ families every month.This is a rare opportunity to build mission-critical, cloud-based mortgage technology platforms that directly support one of the most respected players in the global mortgage finance industry.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused IT Helpdesk Intern to join our global IT support team. The role will involve providing technical assistance to users across different regions, including the US, UK and India.
This is an entry-level opportunity for candidates who have good IT fundamentals, excellent English communication skills, and a strong willingness to learn and build a career in IT Support and Infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to global users through phone, email, chat, remote support tools, and ticketing systems.
- Troubleshoot common issues related to Windows & Mac laptops, desktops, mobile devices, applications, printers, and operating systems.
- Assist users with password resets, account lockouts,
software installation, basic system configuration, and access-related issues.
- Provide basic support for Active Directory, including user accounts, password resets, account unlocks, and group membership under guidance.
- Troubleshoot basic network issues related to Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, IP addresses, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Provide basic support for Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- Assist with laptop/device setup, software installation, patching, and basic endpoint configuration.
- Use IT support, RMM, and endpoint management tools to monitor and troubleshoot user devices.
- Create and maintain accurate tickets, work logs, incident details, and troubleshooting notes.
- Follow documented troubleshooting procedures and escalate complex issues to senior IT engineers.
- Maintain and update IT documentation, knowledge-based articles, and user guides.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with users and provide regular updates on open issues.
- Follow IT security policies and best practices while handling user accounts, devices, and company information.
- Participate in a global support environment and work collaboratively with other IT teams.
Required Skills & Experience
Communication & Customer Service:
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills are mandatory.
- Should be confident speaking with US and UK customers/users over phone and remote support sessions.
- Ability to understand user problems, ask the right questions, and explain technical solutions in simple language.
- Strong customer-service mindset with a professional and patient approach.
- Ability to communicate clearly with users even when handling technical or urgent issues.
- Good listening skills and ability to document issues accurately.
Technical Skills
- 0–1 year of experience in IT Helpdesk, Technical Support, Desktop Support, or IT internship.
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems & Mac.
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory, users, groups, passwords, and account lockouts.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts such as IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and laptop/desktop troubleshooting.
- Exposure to ticketing systems, remote support tools, or ITSM tools is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of endpoint security, antivirus, patching, and security best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset.
- Willingness and ability to learn new IT technologies and tools.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Basic exposure to Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Intune or other endpoint management tools.
- Exposure to RMM tools such as Atera, ConnectWise, or similar platforms.
- Basic PowerShell or scripting knowledge.
- Basic understanding of Windows Server environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM concepts.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or equivalent IT certifications/training.
