: Inventory Manager

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Manager to oversee stock control, purchase coordination, and warehouse operations at our factory. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in procurement/purchase functions and strong leadership abilities to manage and mentor a team on the factory floor.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Maintain optimal stock levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to avoid production stoppages or overstocking
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile with system records (ERP/inventory software)
- Implement and monitor inventory control systems (FIFO/FEFO, ABC analysis, min-max levels, reorder points)
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of materials as per safety and quality standards
- Manage GRN (Goods Receipt Note), material issue slips, and stock transfer documentation
Purchase & Procurement
- Coordinate with the purchase team/vendors for timely procurement of raw materials and consumables
- Raise purchase requisitions/indents based on production planning and stock analysis
- Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and payment terms with vendors • Evaluate vendor performance and maintain vendor database
- Track purchase orders and follow up on delivery schedules to avoid material shortages Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, train, and supervise the inventory/store team, including store keepers and helpers
- Allocate daily tasks,
monitor performance, and ensure discipline on the factory floor
- Coordinate with production, quality, and dispatch teams to ensure smooth material flow
- Drive process improvements and enforce SOPs across the store/warehouse function
- Handle escalations and resolve operational bottlenecks independently Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and present periodic stock reports, purchase reports, and variance analysis to management
- Ensure compliance with statutory and internal audit requirements related to inventory
- Support cost-control initiatives by identifying wastage, obsolete stock, and process inefficiencies
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Purchase/Procurement
- Prior experience in inventory/store management, preferably in a factory/manufacturing setting
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team on the shop floor
- Working knowledge of inventory management software/ERP (SAP, Tally, or similar)
- Proficiency in MS Excel for stock and purchase reporting
