KEDARNATH DOCUMENTARY FILM

PROJECT

INI Design Studio is developing a documentary film on Kedarnath, exploring its sacred and historical significance, the 2013 disaster, reconstruction, the evolving master plan, design and implementation, and the continuing journey of Kedarnath.

A comprehensive creative and production framework has already been developed by INI. The selected student/s will work with this material to develop and produce the international standard documentary film with a collaborative spirit with the INI expert team, while bringing their own filmmaking perspective to the project.

SCOPE The student will be involved in:

- Research and documentary development
- Pre-production and field filming

- Interviews and visual storytelling
- Editing and post-production
- Integration of archival material, graphics and animation
- Research into documentary festivals and distribution opportunities
- Any other related scope as per requirement

PROJECT OUTCOME The objective is to produce an international-standard documentary with potential for submission to major documentary festivals,



broadcasters and digital platforms. The film is currently envisaged in the 4590 minute range, with shorter versions potentially developed for specific platforms or festivals.

WORKING FRAMEWORK The student/s will work closely with INI Design Studio and the NID faculty guide, with substantial interaction from the INI Ahmedabad office and field travel as required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE A student with a robust interest in documentary filmmaking, visual storytelling, research and real-world subjects, with skills in cinematography and/or editing and an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

A graphics/animation student may subsequently be brought into the project if required.

ACADEMIC FRAMEWORK The project will be undertaken as an NID graduation project, subject to NIDs applicable academic guidelines and requirements.
