1. ROLE PURPOSE The Interior Designer is responsible for managing assigned interior design projects from concept development through design documentation and execution coordination. The role combines design excellence, client interaction, team management, documentation, and coordination with site, purchase, vendors, and other internal teams.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design & Concept Development: Develop concepts, space planning, mood boards, material palettes, colour schemes, presentations, and detailed interior drawings.
- Prepare and coordinate furniture layouts, flooring layouts, ceiling plans, electrical and lighting layouts, wall elevations, furniture details, partitions, and execution details.
- Ensure designs are practical, aesthetically strong, budget-conscious, and execution-friendly.
- Client Interaction: Understand client requirements, present designs professionally, conduct meetings, record feedback, manage expectations, and obtain timely approvals.
- Team Management: Allocate tasks to junior designers/interns, review their work, monitor deadlines, provide guidance, and maintain design quality.
- Internal Coordination: Coordinate with Principal Designer, Junior Designers, Site Supervisors, Project Manager,Purchase/Procurement, Accounts, vendors, and contractors.
- Site Coordination: Conduct site visits, review execution against approved drawings, resolve design queries,identify deviations, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Material & Vendor Coordination: Assist with material selection, samples, specifications, vendor discussions, and verification of materials against approved designs.
- BOQ & Cost Coordination: Assist with quantities and specifications,



coordinate with the purchase/project team and propose cost-effective alternatives where required.
- Documentation: Maintain approved drawings, revisions, material selections, client comments, site instructions, and other project records with proper revision control.
- Project Ownership: Take ownership of assigned projects from brief → design → client approval → coordination →execution support → handover.

3. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Review project priorities, deadlines, and pending approvals.
- Complete assigned design and drawing work within committed timelines.
- Update the daily task/reporting sheet.
- Follow up with clients and internal teams for pending decisions and approvals.
- Coordinate with junior designers and site teams.
- Resolve design-related site queries promptly.
- Keep project documentation and drawing revisions updated.
- Report progress, risks, delays, and pending decisions to the reporting manager.

4. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

- Quality and creativity of design output.
- Timely completion of drawings, presentations, and assigned deliverables.
- Client satisfaction and professionalism of communication.
- Accuracy of drawings and reduction of avoidable errors/revisions.




- Timely follow-up for client approvals and decisions.
- Effective delegation, supervision, and development of junior team members.
- Speed and effectiveness in resolving site/design issues.
- Accuracy and completeness of project documentation.
- Material knowledge, cost awareness, and execution feasibility.
- Overall ownership and coordination of assigned projects.

5. REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

- Software: AutoCAD, SketchUp/3D software, Photoshop/Illustrator or equivalent, and MS Office/Google Workspace.
- Good knowledge of furniture detailing, materials, finishes, lighting, ceiling systems, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other interior services.
- Strong client communication and presentation skills.
- Team leadership, time management, problem solving, negotiation, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under deadlines and coordinate multiple projects/tasks.

6. AUTHORITY & ACCOUNTABILITY

- Responsible for the design and coordination of assigned projects within the approved brief and company process.
- Major design changes, additional costs, vendor commitments, and significant timeline commitments must be discussed with and approved by the Principal Designer/Management.
- No drawing should be issued for execution without appropriate internal review, client approval where applicable, and revision control.

7. IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate should think like a designer but work like a project owner. They should be capable of understanding a brief, developing a solid design, presenting it to the client, coordinating the internal team,maintaining documentation, and supporting the site team through successful execution.
