DESIGNATION: Deputy Manager - Injection Moulding & Extrusion Department

Summary & KRA(Key Responsibility Area)

- Plan and manage daily injection moulding and extrusion production to meet volume, quality, and delivery targets.
- Allocate machines, moulds, and manpower; optimize changeovers, cycle times, and OEE.
- Ensure process stability to achieve dimension stability and consistency.
- Set up and approve moulding parameters; troubleshoot process issues, including short shots, flash, burn marks, warpage, and colour/weight variations.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications; coordinate with QA for in-process checks, first-piece approval, and rejection analysis.
- Drive initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and material wastage; implement continuous improvement, Kaizen, and cost-saving projects.
- Drive technology improvements to reduce changeover, manpower, and improve efficiency.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines, moulds, and auxiliaries with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with the Mould design and Tool Room team for improvements on mould design and manufacturing.
- Perform Scientific Injection moulding on current and new moulds.
- Ensure strict compliance with statutory/environmental requirements and safety on the shop floor.
- Lead, train, and motivate operators, setters, and supervisors; conduct job training on process, quality, and safety.
- Plan and conduct tests for new moulds, new materials, and engineering changes, document trial reports,



and hand over approved processes to production.
- Monitor and report key production KPIs (OEE, material reconsideration) to management with action plans.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with ISO/TS/IATF or customer-specific QMS requirements in the moulding department.
- WIP Inventory management and maintain the record.
- Identify critical moulds and plan special training of operators to prevent damage to the moulds and equipment.

Technical & Behavioural Competencies:

- Strong process understanding of injection moldings, extrusion, and its defect analysis
- Production planning, line balancing/ and OEE improvement capability
- Team leadership, delegation, and conflict management skills
- Data-driven decision making with positive MS Excel/reporting skills
- Good coordination with QA, maintenance, design, planning, stores, and Strategic Sourcing departments.
- Collaborative spirit and interest in people issues

Qualification:

- Diploma / BE in Plastic & Polymer Production Engineering or equivalent.
- 6-10 years of experience in plastic injection moulding, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Hands-on knowledge of injection moulding machines like Fanuc, Toyo, Engel/ 50-350 tons (make/tonnage), moulds, auxiliaries (chillers, dryers, loaders, hot-runner systems), and common engineering plastics.
- Exposure to electrical goods, moulded parts, and familiarity with basic quality tools like (7 QC tools, 5 Whys, Pareto, etc) will be an added advantage.
