- Skilled in database installation and configuration.
- Proficient in backup and recovery strategies.
- Experience in database performance and tuning.
- Knowledgeable about database migrations and upgrades.
- Familiar with clustering and high-availability.
- Proficient in replication and disaster recovery.
- Expertise in database security and auditing.
- Understanding of data security governance and regulations such as GDPR and SOX.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for database installation, configuration, tuning, upgrades, and general maintenance activities.
- Ensure all project/investment related workloads are delivered according to plans and budget.
- Provide consultancy to application support and development teams on database and systems design.
- Perform daily health and compliance checks for all Production systems.
- Ensure database systems are backed up successfully and promptly resolve any issues.
- Ensure database jobs run successfully and promptly resolve any issues.
- Detect and satisfactorily resolve database monitoring alerts promptly.
- Ensure sufficient capacity is available to accommodate projected BAU growth.
- Respond to team distribution list emails in a timely manner.
- Handle problem tickets and service requests efficiently with the customer in mind.
- Ensure database platforms are highly available, reliable, secure, and performant.
- Provide technical support to application support and development teams.
- Execute disaster recovery procedures when necessary.
- Apply database security updates as per defined policies.
- Review and remediate items detected by Qualys vulnerability and compliance scans.
- Keep all operational procedures current and accurate.
- Participate in On-Call rotation, triaging, and addressing production issues as they arise.
- Identify cost-saving and optimization opportunities within MUS EMEA and the wider MUFG group.
- Build robust relationships across the Bank and Securities with other functions and business areas, underpinned by trust and the core values of the bank.
