10X School – School of Innovation, Bengaluru, invites applications from experienced, academically accomplished, and student-centred educators for the role of IBDP Chemistry Faculty. The selected candidate will deliver high-quality Chemistry instruction for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and contribute actively to an inquiry-driven, inclusive, and academically rigorous learning culture.

The IB Diploma Programme Chemistry course focuses on scientific inquiry, practical investigation, scientific communication, and the ethical dimensions of scientific work.ibo

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging, concept-based and inquiry-led lessons for IBDP Chemistry at SL and HL, in line with IB philosophy and programme requirements.
- Develop annual plans, unit planners, lesson plans, assessments, laboratory schedules, and learning resources for the two-year IBDP course.
- Conduct safe, well-structured laboratory investigations that build students’ experimental design, data collection, processing, analysis, evaluation, and scientific writing skills.
- Prepare students effectively for IB external assessments, including examination technique, subject content, data-based questions, and extended-response questions.
- Guide students through the IBDP Chemistry Internal Assessment (IA) process, including research-question development, investigation planning, data analysis, evaluation, academic integrity, and authenticity checks.
- Mentor students undertaking Chemistry-related Extended Essays (EE), where assigned.
- Assess student learning using IB-aligned criteria; provide timely,



meaningful feedback and maintain accurate academic records.
- Track student progress, identify learning gaps, and provide intervention, enrichment, and individual academic support as required.
- Foster a classroom culture that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, collaboration, ethical scientific practice, and the IB Learner Profile.
- Ensure adherence to all laboratory safety procedures, chemical-handling protocols, risk assessments, equipment maintenance, and inventory requirements.
- Collaborate with the DP Coordinator, science faculty, laboratory staff, counsellors, and learning-support teams to support student outcomes.
- Communicate student progress and learning needs professionally with parents/guardians during meetings, reporting cycles, and school events.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, professional development, co-curricular activities, supervision duties, and wider school initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related Chemistry discipline is required.
- Master’s degree in Chemistry or an allied field is essential.
- B.Ed., PGCE, teaching licence, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification is preferred.
- IB-recognised training/certification in the Diploma Programme is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant senior-secondary teaching experience,



with demonstrated experience teaching IBDP Chemistry preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of IBDP Chemistry curriculum, IB assessment standards, Internal Assessment requirements, Extended Essay guidance, and academic-integrity expectations.
- Demonstrated experience conducting practical Chemistry lessons and managing a school science laboratory safely.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in using digital learning platforms, data tools, simulations, and technology-enabled teaching resources.
