HR MANAGER

Position : HR Manager

Department : Human Resources

Reports To : Management / Director

Location : Mumbai

Job Purpose To lead and manage the complete Human Resources function of the organization, ensuring effective manpower planning, recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, payroll coordination, statutory compliance, HR policies, training, and overall employee relations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Manpower Planning

- Manage the complete recruitment cycle from manpower requisition to onboarding.
- Source, screen, interview, and select suitable candidates.
- Coordinate with recruitment consultants, job portals, and placement agencies.
- Maintain a robust talent pipeline for critical positions.
- Ensure timely joining and smooth induction of new employees.

1. Employee Relations

- Handle employee grievances and workplace concerns professionally.
- Maintain positive employee-management relations.
- Counsel employees on performance, discipline, attendance, and workplace behaviour.
- Conduct employee engagement activities.
- Handle disciplinary matters, warnings, show-cause notices, and termination processes in coordination with management.

1. HR Policies & Processes

- Develop, implement, and periodically review HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure employees understand and comply with company rules and regulations.
- Maintain employee handbook, HR forms, appointment letters, and other HR documentation.
- Establish effective HR systems and processes.

1. Performance Management

- Manage the performance appraisal process.
- Coordinate KRA/KPI setting and periodic performance reviews.
- Support managers in identifying performance gaps and improvement plans.
- Recommend increments, promotions, transfers, and other employee actions based on performance and company policy.

1. Payroll & Attendance

- Supervise monthly payroll processing and ensure accuracy.
- Monitor attendance, leave, late coming, overtime, and salary deductions.




- Coordinate with Finance/Accounts for salary processing.
- Ensure proper maintenance of payroll and employee records.

1. Statutory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Oversee PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Gratuity, Bonus, Shops & Establishments and other applicable compliances.
- Coordinate with consultants and authorities whenever required.
- Maintain statutory registers, records, returns, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable POSH requirements and conduct awareness initiatives.

1. Training & Development

- Identify training and development requirements.
- Prepare and coordinate annual training plans.
- Organize induction and orientation programs.
- Track employee training and development records.
- Support employee career development and succession planning.

1. HR Documentation & MIS

- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records.
- Prepare HR reports and MIS for management.
- Track headcount, attrition, absenteeism, recruitment status, leave, and other HR metrics.
- Maintain organizational charts and employee master data.

1. Employee Engagement & Culture

- Develop initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention.
- Organize employee events, celebrations, and welfare activities.
- Promote professional conduct, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture.
- Identify employee retention issues and recommend appropriate actions.

1. Exit Management

- Manage resignation and separation processes.
- Conduct exit interviews and identify reasons for employee attrition.
- Ensure proper handover, clearance, relieving,



and full-and-final settlement processes.
- Monitor notice-period compliance.

1. Management Support

- Provide HR-related advice and recommendations to management.
- Support management in organizational restructuring and manpower decisions.
- Handle sensitive employee matters with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Participate in HR strategy and organizational development initiatives.

Qualifications
- MBA / PGDM / Master's Degree in Human Resources or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in any relevant discipline.

Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably with experience managing the complete HR function.
- Experience in manufacturing / chemical / pharmaceutical / FMCG or a similar industry will be preferred.

- Good understanding of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Strong recruitment and employee-relations skills.

- Good knowledge of MS Excel and HRMS/payroll systems.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
