Job Purpose

Lead and manage all Health, Safety &

- Environment (HSE) activities at the biogas plant, ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with applicable statutory requirements, company standards, and project HSE policies throughout construction, commissioning, and plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

- HSE Management System: Develop, implement, and monitor the site HSE plans, procedures, risk assessments, JSA/JHA, SOPs, and emergency response plans.

- Site Safety Management: Monitor all construction, mechanical, civil, electrical, piping, commissioning, and operational activities to ensure safe work practices and compliance with approved safety procedures.

- Risk Assessment &
- Permit Systems:

Conduct risk assessments and ensure effective implementation of PTW, LOTO, hot work, work-at-height, confined-space, excavation, lifting, electrical, and other high-risk work controls.

- Biogas &

- Process Safety:

Manage risks associated with biogas, methane, HS, oxygen
- deficiency, gas leakage, fire/explosion hazards, pressure systems, digesters, gasholders, compressors, and gas handling equipment.

- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and conduct emergency drills for fire, gas leakage,HS exposure, confined-space incidents, equipment failure, medical emergencies, andother foreseeable site scenarios.

- Contractor &

- Workforce Safety:

Ensure contractors, subcontractors, operators, andworkers comply with HSE requirements through inductions, toolbox talks, training,inspections, and regular safety meetings.

- Inspection &

- Auditing:

Conduct routine site inspections, safety audits, behavioral safetyobservations, equipment inspections, and compliance checks; identify unsafe conditionsand ensure corrective actions.

- Incident Management: Lead investigation of accidents, near misses, unsafe acts,



and environmental incidents; conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective andpreventive actions.

- Environmental &

- Statutory Compliance:

Monitor environmental controls includingwaste management, wastewater, emissions, chemical handling, noise, housekeeping, andpollution prevention, while ensuring compliance with applicable statutory requirements.

- HSE Reporting &

- Performance:

Maintain safety records and preparedaily/weekly/monthly HSE reports covering incidents, near misses, inspections, training, observations, corrective actions, and HSE KPIs.

Candidate Requirements

- Education: Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Science with a recognized qualification in Occupational Health &
- Safety / Industrial Safety.

- Experience: 1015+ years of HSE/Safety experience, preferably in biogas, CBG, waste-to-energy, process plants, EPC, chemical, oil & gas, or other industrial projects.

- Strong experience in construction and commissioning safety management.

- Practical knowledge of PTW, LOTO, JSA/JHA, HIRA, confined-space entry, work at height, lifting operations, electrical safety, fire safety, and emergency response.

- Positive understanding of process safety and hazardous-gas environments, particularly methane and HS.

- Experience managing safety teams and multiple contractors at large project sites.

- Strong knowledge of applicable Indian safety and environmental legislation.

- Good communication, leadership, training, investigation, and documentation skills.

- Proficiency in MS Office and HSE reporting systems.

- Willingness to work full-time at the Nagapattinam project/plant site is essential.

- IOSH

- Industrial Safety certification recognized by the applicable authority

- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor

- ISO 14001 Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor

- Fire &
- Safety certification

- Process Safety / HAZOP / HAZID training
