About the Role
Param History is looking for an energetic and organised History Communicator to support and execute history-themed outreach programmes, temporary exhibitions, workshops, and public events.
This is not primarily a research or historian role. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, coordinating events, travelling, communicating with different stakeholders, and bringing history-based programmes to life. A genuine interest in Indian history and culture is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage visitors through meaningful conversations, storytelling, and interactive interpretation of exhibits and historical themes, creating an engaging and memorable learning experience.
- Explain exhibits and historical concepts in an engaging, accessible, and age-appropriate manner for students, educators, families, and the general public.
- Deliver interactive history-based learning experiences through discussions, demonstrations, and activities that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and participation.
- Adapt communication and presentation style to suit diverse audiences, ensuring historical concepts are relevant, inclusive, and easy to understand.
- Support visitor engagement during exhibitions, workshops, special events, and educational programmes while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment.
- Plan and execute school outreach programmes, workshops, temporary exhibitions, history-themed events, and institutional engagements.
- Assist in preparing activity materials, presentations, and other programme-related content to support visitor learning and engagement.
- Coordinate with schools, educational institutions, vendors, resource persons, partners, and internal teams to ensure smooth programme delivery.
- Manage on-ground logistics for outreach activities and events, including scheduling,
materials, setup, visitor coordination, and post-event follow-ups.
- Travel as required for outreach programmes, exhibitions, workshops, events, and institutional engagements, representing Param History professionally at all times.
Skills, Experience and Requirement
- Graduate in any discipline. Candidates from History, Humanities, Communication, Event Management, Education, or related fields may have an advantage.
- 0–2 years of experience in event management, outreach, education, museums, cultural organisations, or related fields.
- Freshers with excellent communication skills, initiative, and an interest in Indian history are encouraged to apply.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable speaking before groups, particularly school and college students.
- Ability to independently coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage activities on the ground.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Language Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Kannada and English, both spoken and written.
- Knowledge of additional Indian languages will be an added advantage.
Work Schedule The role involves regular work on Saturdays and Sundays, as most public programmes and events are conducted on weekends. Weekly offs will therefore be provided on other days of the week.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is people-oriented, proactive, curious, and comfortable working on the ground. Someone who enjoys interacting with diverse audiences, takes ownership of tasks, and brings energy and enthusiasm to every programme.
A robust interest in Indian history and culture is important, but you do not need to be a history expert. What matters most is your ability to communicate ideas clearly, connect with people, and bring historical stories and experiences to life in an engaging and accessible way.
