AVP Design Architect

Location: Kothrud, Pune

About the Role

We are looking for an accomplished and visionary AVP Design to lead the architectural design strategy and creative direction for large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

This leadership role will be responsible for driving design excellence, innovation, sustainability, and project viability while ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer experience, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading the design and delivery of large integrated developments, premium residential townships, commercial complexes, IT parks, and mixed-use projects.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership & Master Planning

- Define and drive the overall design vision and architectural philosophy across multiple projects.
- Lead conceptualization, planning, and design development of large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
- Provide strategic direction for master planning, zoning, land utilization, and space optimization.
- Ensure projects achieve the highest standards of aesthetics, functionality, sustainability, and commercial viability.
- Act as the internal Design Leader, ensuring design excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

Architectural Design Management

- Review and approve concept designs, schematic drawings, design development documents, and construction drawings.
- Drive innovative architectural solutions that enhance customer experience and project value.
- Ensure effective integration of architecture, structure, MEP, landscape, interiors, and infrastructure planning.
- Promote adoption of BIM methodologies and modern design technologies.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing design management team.
- Collaborate closely with Project Management, Construction, MEP, Procurement, Marketing, CRM, Leasing, and Business Development teams.




- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and design excellence.

Consultant & Vendor Management

- Appoint, evaluate, and manage leading architectural consultants and design partners.
- Conduct regular design reviews and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
- Drive effective coordination between consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Regulatory & Statutory Compliance

- Ensure all designs comply with:

- NBC Guidelines

- RERA Regulations

- Environmental Norms
- Fire & Safety Standards

- UDCPR Guidelines
- PMC / PCMC / PMRDA Regulations
- Liaise with consultants and authorities for design approvals and compliance requirements.

Design Governance & Quality Control

- Establish robust design review frameworks and approval processes.
- Develop design standards, documentation protocols, and quality benchmarks.
- Ensure consistency and excellence across the organization's project portfolio.

Commercial & Business Alignment

- Evaluate project economics and cost implications of design decisions.
- Drive value engineering initiatives without compromising design quality.
- Support project feasibility studies and optimization of development potential.

Sustainability & Innovation

- Champion sustainable design practices and green building initiatives.
- Encourage adoption of LEED, IGBC, and ESG-focused design principles.
- Stay updated with emerging trends, materials, technologies, and international best practices.

Leadership Communication

- Present design concepts and strategic recommendations to senior management and leadership teams.
- Represent the organization in consultant meetings, design reviews, and regulatory discussions.





Desired Candidate Profile

Education

- B.Arch (Mandatory)
- M.Arch preferred
- Additional certifications will be an advantage:

- LEED Accredited Professional

- IGBC Accredited Professional

- PMP Certification
- Design Thinking / Innovation Certifications

Experience

- 20-25 years of relevant experience in Architecture and Design Management.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience as Design Head, Lead Architect, AVP Design, VP Design, Design Director, or equivalent leadership position.
