Job Profile: Head of Quality Control (Dahej, Gujarat)

The Head of Quality Control at a Dahej workshop oversees all quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC), and non-destructive testing (NDT) operations. This heavy industrial hub requires strict compliance with international manufacturing codes.

Experience & Education

- Duration: 15 to 20 years of fabrication workshop experience.
- Degree: Bachelors degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering.
- Domain: Heavy engineering, pressure vessels, Heat Exchangers, piping, or structural steel fabrication.

Certifications & Technical Skills

- NDT Qualifications: Valid ASNT Level III in RT, UT, PT, and MT.
- Welding Credentials: Certified Welding Engineer (AWS-CWE) or International Welding Engineer (IWE).
- Code Knowledge: Mastery of ASME (Sections I, VIII, IX), ASTM, API,



and AWS codes.

Key Responsibilities Management & Compliance

- System Oversight: Maintain and audit the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Authority Liaison: Manage interactions with third-party inspection agencies (TPIAs) like EIL,LRS, TUV, DNV and BVIS.
- Customer Audits: Act as the primary technical point of contact for client quality audits.

Shop Floor Execution

- Documentation: Approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
- Defect Control: Analyse non-conformance reports (NCRs) to implement root-cause corrective actions.
- NDT Supervision: Sign off on complex radiography interpretations and ultrasonic testing procedures.
