About The Job:

- We are hiring a Head of Engineering to lead the Product engineering org — a hands-on technical leader who can own the architecture, lead the engineering teams, drive the modernization program, and build a high-performing engineering culture from the ground up.

- This is a deeply technical role. We are not looking for an engineering manager who delegates all architecture decisions. You will be expected to be credible at the code and design level, make hard technical calls, and personally drive the Spring Boot and Angular migration alongside your squad leads. You will own engineering quality, delivery velocity, and technical standards across all squads.

Essential Job Functions:

- Technical leadership of the full Product engineering organization

- Developing and executing engineering strategy, setting goals and prioritizing projects

- Define and enforce engineering standards, architecture patterns, code quality, and technical debt strategy

- Lead the Modernization Lead and QA Lead; set technical direction for all squad leads





- Partner with VP of Product and Product Director to ensure requirements are engineering-ready and sprints are properly planned

- Own release quality alongside the QA Lead — zero-compromise on production stability

- Build and scale the engineering team — hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance management

- Collaborate with Head of Shared Services on DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure

- Drive AI-assisted engineering practices — tooling, code generation, automated testing

Qualifications

- Exp: 12-20yrs.

- 15+ years of hands-on Java engineering experience — you can still write production-quality code and own architecture decisions

- Proven track record leading at least one major modernization project using to microservices and cloud native architecture

- Deep expertise in JSF, JBOSS, JBPM, Hibernate, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and modern Java architecture patterns

- Hands on experience with System integration frameworks, authentication and security protocols

- Robust Angular or React front-end understanding — enough to technically lead a modernization alongside front-end leads

- Experience leading engineering teams of 30+ in an India offshore or hybrid delivery model

- Strong grasp of CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud deployment (AWS or Azure)

- Experience working with Agile squads, sprint planning, and engineering-to-product0020collaboration

- Adoption and innovation of SDLC with the AI tools like Cursor, Claude, Copilot etc

- Financial services, mortgage, or enterprise SaaS background is a strong plus
