Role Purpose The Head – Group Marketing & Brand will be responsible for the overall marketing, branding and communication strategy across the Group and its businesses.
The role will work closely with Group leadership and individual business heads to establish a consistent brand direction, strengthen the market position of each business, support new business and brand launches, and ensure effective marketing execution across all channels.
The position will have end-to-end responsibility for Group marketing and brand activities, from strategy and planning through implementation, performance review and governance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Group Marketing Strategy
- Develop and implement the overall marketing strategy for the Group and its businesses.
- Prepare annual marketing plans aligned with business priorities and growth objectives.
- Work with business heads to understand market requirements and develop relevant marketing plans for each business.
- Identify market opportunities, customer segments, competitor activity and emerging trends.
- Establish clear marketing priorities, budgets, timelines and expected outcomes.
- Review marketing performance regularly and recommend changes based on business requirements and results.
2. Brand Strategy & Management
- Define and manage the brand positioning, architecture and identity of the Group and individual businesses.
- Establish brand guidelines and ensure consistent implementation across all companies and communication channels.
- Review existing brands and recommend repositioning, rebranding or consolidation where required.
- Ensure clear differentiation between businesses while maintaining an appropriate Group identity.
- Act as the custodian of the Group's brands and approve key brand and creative output.
This expands the existing responsibility for portfolio strategy, positioning, architecture and brand standards. 3. New Brands, Products & Business Launches
- Lead the marketing and branding requirements for new businesses, products and market entries.
- Manage brand development from concept to launch, including market research, positioning, naming, identity, packaging and go-to-market planning.
- Develop launch plans in coordination with business, sales and management teams.
- Support consumer-facing/FMCG brands as applicable across the Group.
- Monitor post-launch performance and recommend corrective actions where required.
Richa's current KRA already places significant emphasis on taking brands from concept through market launch, including FMCG category, proposition, identity and packaging. 4. Digital Marketing & Online Presence
- Lead the digital marketing strategy across Group businesses.
- Oversee Group and business websites, including content, user experience, SEO and ongoing optimization.
- Develop social media strategy and ensure appropriate management of Group and individual brand channels.
- Oversee digital campaigns, search, content marketing, email/CRM and other relevant channels.
- Ensure appropriate use of analytics and reporting to measure traffic, engagement, leads and campaign performance.
- Keep the Group's digital presence current and aligned with changes in search and AI-driven discovery.
5. Marketing Campaigns & Business Support
- Develop marketing campaigns based on the commercial objectives of individual businesses.
- Partner with Sales and Business Development teams to support lead generation, customer acquisition and market development.
- Develop appropriate marketing material, presentations, corporate profiles, brochures and sales support material.
- Ensure marketing activities have defined objectives, target audiences, budgets and measurable outcomes.
- Track campaign performance and marketing contribution to business growth.
6. Content & Corporate Communication
- Establish the Group's communication and content framework.
- Ensure consistency in corporate messaging, tone of voice and key business narratives.
- Oversee corporate profiles, presentations, websites, marketing collateral and external communication.
- Review and approve key external communication before release.
- Ensure communication reflects the positioning and objectives of the relevant Group company.
7. Public Relations & Reputation Management
- Develop and oversee PR and external communication plans for relevant Group businesses.
- Manage media, PR agencies and external communication partners.
- Support leadership communication, announcements, launches and corporate events.
- Monitor external coverage and manage reputational matters in coordination with management.
- Ensure external statements are appropriately reviewed and authorized.
8. Investor & Corporate Communication
- Support marketing and communication requirements for listed Group entities.
- Coordinate the narrative, content and design of annual reports, quarterly reports, investor presentations and other corporate communication.
- Work with Finance, Company Secretarial, Investor Relations and leadership teams to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Ensure communication is completed within required reporting and governance timelines.
9. Agency & Vendor Management
- Identify and appoint suitable marketing, creative, digital, website and PR agencies.
- Define scope, deliverables,
timelines and commercials.
- Negotiate contracts and monitor agency performance.
- Review and approve agency output before release.
- Build an appropriate external partner network while controlling quality and cost.
10. Marketing Budget & Performance
- Prepare and manage the Group marketing budget.
- Allocate budgets based on business priorities and approved marketing plans.
- Monitor marketing expenditure and ensure appropriate cost control.
- Establish marketing KPIs and reporting dashboards.
- Measure campaign effectiveness, digital performance, lead generation, brand growth and return on marketing spend.
- Present periodic marketing updates to Group leadership.
11. Team Leadership & Group Governance
- Build and manage the Group marketing and brand function.
- Define responsibilities between Group Marketing and marketing resources within individual businesses.
- Set priorities, review performance and develop the capabilities of the team.
- Establish approval processes and marketing governance across Group companies.
- Ensure Group businesses follow agreed brand, communication and marketing standards.
- Take ownership of marketing requirements from planning through execution and closure.
Candidate Profile
- 15+ years of experience in marketing, brand management, corporate communication or related functions, with significant leadership experience.
- Experience managing multiple brands, businesses or business verticals at Group level is strongly preferred.
- Strong experience in brand strategy, positioning and brand development.
- Experience developing and executing marketing strategies linked to business growth.
- Good understanding of digital marketing, performance marketing, social media, SEO, content and analytics.
- Experience launching new brands, products or businesses.
- Experience managing agencies, vendors and marketing budgets.
- Exposure to B2B and B2C/consumer businesses would be preferred.
- Exposure to listed companies, investor communication or annual-report communication would be an advantage.
- Robust commercial understanding and ability to work closely with promoters, senior leadership and business heads.
- Ability to operate in a fast-moving Group environment and manage multiple businesses and priorities simultaneously.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to build the function, processes and team from the ground up where required.
