We are looking for an experienced Head – Engineering & Maintenance to lead the engineering, facilities, infrastructure, and maintenance operations of a 250-bedded hospital in Vijayawada. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted, safe, compliant, and efficient functioning of all engineering and facility systems across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the overall Engineering, Maintenance and Facility Management functions at the hospital unit level.

- Ensure uninterrupted operation and maintenance of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, civil, mechanical and medical utility systems.

- Manage critical hospital infrastructure including DG sets, UPS systems, transformers, LT/HT panels, lifts, fire & safety systems, STP/ETP, medical gases and HVAC systems.

- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.

- Ensure timely resolution of breakdowns and emergency maintenance issues.

- Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving and cost-optimization initiatives.

- Ensure compliance with applicable hospital, electrical, fire, safety, environmental and statutory requirements.

- Coordinate with NABH/NABL and other accreditation/compliance requirements related to engineering and facility management.

- Manage AMC/CMC contracts and coordinate with external vendors and service providers.

- Evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts and monitor service quality and SLA compliance.

- Prepare and manage engineering and maintenance budgets, CAPEX and OPEX requirements.

- Lead and mentor the engineering, maintenance and facility teams.

- Maintain proper documentation, maintenance records,



inspection reports and statutory certificates.

- Coordinate with clinical and non-clinical departments to address infrastructure and maintenance requirements.

- Ensure hospital operations are supported during emergencies, power failures, equipment breakdowns and other critical situations.

- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments of hospital infrastructure.

- Drive continuous improvement in reliability, safety, operational efficiency and patient-care support services.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of hospital engineering and facility management.

- Experience managing engineering operations in a tertiary-care hospital.

- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, DG, UPS, medical gases, fire & safety, plumbing and civil maintenance.

- Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance practices.

- Solid vendor and contract management skills.

- Budgeting, cost control and project management skills.

- Good leadership, communication and team-management abilities.

- Ability to handle critical situations and work in a 24×7 hospital environment.

Candidate Profile

- Experience: 15–20 years overall experience, with significant hospital/healthcare engineering experience mandatory.

- Qualification: Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Engineering or a relevant field.

- Candidates currently working as Manager / Senior Manager / Head – Engineering, Maintenance or Facilities in hospitals will be preferred.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
