Role Description The Qualified CA – GST will be responsible for handling GST compliance, advisory and litigation assignments for a diverse portfolio of corporate and business clients. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Thane, Maharashtra.
The role will involve reviewing and managing GST compliance, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, reconciliations, input tax credit reviews and other GST-related documentation. The candidate will also be expected to analyze transactions and provide practical GST advisory in accordance with applicable laws, notifications, circulars and judicial developments.
The candidate will have significant exposure to GST notices, departmental proceedings, assessments, audits and litigation, including assisting in preparing replies, submissions, supporting documentation and representing clients before tax authorities, as applicable.
The role will also involve researching GST legislation, circulars,
notifications and case laws, preparing technical notes and client communications, identifying potential tax risks and working with internal teams and clients to resolve complex GST matters.
The candidate will be expected to independently manage assignments, maintain high-quality working papers, meet statutory deadlines and contribute to improving processes within the GST practice.
Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 2–4 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Strong practical knowledge of GST laws, rules, procedures and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience in GST return review, filing, reconciliations, ITC analysis and compliance.
- Prior experience in GST advisory and transaction-related tax analysis.
- Strong practical exposure to GST litigation, notices, assessments, audits and departmental proceedings.
- Experience in drafting GST notice replies, submissions and representations will be highly preferred.
- Candidates who have gained substantial GST exposure during their CA articleship will be preferred.
- Strong skills in tax research and analysis, including the ability to interpret GST legislation, notifications, circulars and case laws.
- Positive understanding of accounting principles and the ability to review financial data, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and GST/accounting/taxation software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex GST matters clearly to clients and team members.
- Ability to independently manage multiple assignments while meeting statutory and client deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, professional integrity and a problem-solving mindset.
- Prior experience working in a CA firm, tax consultancy or professional services environment will be preferred.
