Role & responsibilities

- Develop and implement gold price hedging strategies based on business requirements, inventory exposure, purchase commitments, and prevailing market conditions.
- Monitor and analyze domestic and international gold prices, including spot prices, futures, forwards, options, and other relevant instruments.
- Analyze key factors influencing gold prices, including USD/INR movements, interest rates, inflation, central bank policies, economic indicators, geopolitical developments, and global market trends.
- Monitor the company's gold price exposure, inventory risk, open positions, and purchase and sales commitments.
- Recommend appropriate hedging instruments and strategies to minimize price risk and protect company margins.
- Manage and monitor hedging positions, MTM, P&L;, exposure, margin requirements, and hedge effectiveness.
- Work closely with Procurement, Finance, Treasury, Accounts, Sales, and Senior Management to align hedging strategies with business requirements.
- Prepare regular gold exposure, hedge performance, market outlook, and risk reports for senior management.
- Identify market risks and opportunities and provide timely and well-informed strategic recommendations.
- Coordinate with banks, bullion dealers, brokers, exchanges, and financial institutions as required.
- Ensure hedging activities are carried out within approved risk management policies, controls, limits, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on bullion market practices, MCX, international bullion markets, derivatives, and applicable regulations.
- Contribute to strengthening and improving the organizations overall gold price risk management framework.

Preferred candidate profile

- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in Gold Hedging Bullion Trading, Commodity Hedging, Treasury,



Commodity Risk Management, Gold Trading, or related financial markets.
- Strong understanding of gold price dynamics and domestic and international bullion markets.
- Practical experience with Gold Futures, Forwards, Options, and other derivative instruments.
- Strong knowledge of MCX and international gold markets.
- Ability to analyze market data and translate market movements into effective and practical hedging decisions.
- Solid understanding of gold exposure, MTM, P&L;, margin requirements, and hedge effectiveness.
- Strong analytical, financial modelling, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to make timely and well-informed decisions in a fast-moving and volatile market environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate market views, risks, and hedging recommendations to senior management.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross functional teams.

Ideal candidate We are looking for a professional who can independently assess gold price exposure, formulate and implement appropriate hedging strategies, monitor hedge performance, and provide clear and timely recommendations to management.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of gold and derivative markets with practical commercial understanding of the jewellery business.

Experience in a reputed and established jewellery organisation will be strongly preferred, particularly for candidates who have directly managed gold exposure, procurement-related risk, or hedging activities.
