GMx - Manager - Commercial Controlling Job Summary
As a Controller, you will align to a high-profile engagement, taking ownership of contract management across commercial, financial, and engagement dimensions. You will partner closely with engagement leadership and key stakeholders to drive financial performance and ensure adherence to contractual requirements.
You will bring strong commercial acumen and proven experience in financial and engagement management. In addition, you will play a key role in leading, coaching, and developing junior team members, contributing to the overall effectiveness and capability of the Controlling Function.
Your Key Responsibilities Commercial & Contract Management
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the contracts commercial construct and underlying business case
- Act as the primary point of contact for all commercial matters for the client, Engagement Partner, Tax Account Lead and Tax leadership
- Drive the activation and governance of commercial contractual clauses, ensuring early identification and mitigation of non-compliance risks
- Support contract renewals and related commercial discussions
Financial Management & Governance
- Build and maintain visibility of global engagement financials, driving robust commercial governance with key stakeholders
- Monitor and report financial performance against plan, supported by detailed variance analysis and root cause insights
- Recommend and implement actions to mitigate risks and capitalise on commercial opportunities
Operational Oversight & Delivery Excellence
- Lead and manage the Commercial Operations team, ensuring adherence to EY standards and Quality & Risk Management (QRM) requirements
- Oversee and review key deliverables, including internal contracting, change requests (scope and fee), estimates to complete, billing, reporting and pricing plans
- Drive consistency,
accuracy and continuous improvement across commercial processes and deliverables

To qualify for the role, you must have
- A Graduate/MBA degree or equivalent.
- 10-15 years of experience.
- Project Management Skills to deliver positive outcomes in short timelines.
- Team handling skills. Experience in managing a team size of 2-3 at least.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining robust financial and operational models, with strong data analysis and presentation skills
- Hands-on experience managing end-to-end budgeting and forecasting processes
- Experience in month-end reporting, including variance analysis with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
- Demonstrated ownership of cash flow reporting and management
- Experience managing projects with complex billing structures and multi-dimensional interdependencies
- Basic understanding of P&L; concepts and key financial elements
- Strong understanding of financial and commercial drivers and their interdependencies
