A. Raw Material Quality Control
- Inspect and test incoming raw materials such as wood chips, flakes, sawdust, recycled wood, and other inputs.
- Monitor raw material parameters including moisture content, particle size, density, and contamination.
- Support inspection and quality verification of chemicals/resins, hardeners, wax, and other additives.
- Maintain records of incoming material inspection and test results.
- Inform seniors regarding any non-conformance in raw materials.
B. Process Quality Monitoring
- Monitor critical quality parameters at various stages of particle board production.
- Check parameters related to
- Wood particle size and moisture
- Resin/additive application
- Mat formation
- Press temperature and pressure
- Pressing time
- Board thickness
- Density profile
- Cooling and conditioning
- Sanding parameters
- Conduct regular process inspections and record observations.
- Coordinate with Production for correction of process deviations.
- Perform/assist in tests such as:
- Moisture Content
- Density

- Modulus of Elasticity (MOE)
- Surface Soundness
- Screw Holding Strength
- Other applicable physical and mechanical properties
- Maintain laboratory test records and ensure timely reporting of results.
- Ensure testing equipment is properly handled and maintained.
D. Finished Product Inspection
- Inspect finished boards for thickness, dimensions, surface quality, edge quality, and visual defects.
- Identify defects such as cracks, blisters,
delamination, rough surfaces, density variation, and thickness variation.
- Verify finished product quality against customer/internal specifications.
- Support release or hold decisions for finished products based on test results.
E. Quality Documentation

- Assist in preparation of daily/weekly/monthly quality reports.
- Maintain traceability of raw materials, production batches, and finished products.
- Ensure proper documentation of non-conformities and corrective actions.
F. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action
- Identify and report quality deviations and non-conformities.
- Support root-cause analysis using basic quality tools such as:
- 5 Why Analysis
- Fishbone Diagram
- Pareto Analysis
- Check Sheets
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Follow up with Production and other departments to ensure corrective actions are effective.
G. Quality Improvement
- Participate in quality improvement and continuous improvement projects.
- Analyse recurring defects and suggest practical solutions.
- Support reduction of rejection, rework, wastage, and customer complaints.
- Participate in trials related to process, resin, raw material, and product improvements.
I. Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, Resin, Maintenance, Stores, and other departments for quality-related activities.
