Required Technical Skill Set
- Google Cloud Platform administration with deep expertise in Google Kubernetes Engine cluster operations.
- CI/CD pipeline design, build, troubleshooting, release automation, and GitOps deployment using Argo CD and Helm.
- GKE cluster, node-pool, namespace, workload, service, ingress, network policy, resource quota, and RBAC administration.
- Container image and dependency vulnerability remediation, security scanning, patching, IAM controls, and cloud security hardening.
- Prometheus metrics, Grafana dashboards, alerting, logging, OpenTelemetry integration, and production observability.
- Google Cloud Key Management / approved Key Vault integrations, Kubernetes Secrets, ConfigMaps, and environment-specific configuration management.
- TLS/SSL certificate lifecycle management, trust stores, certificate rotation, expiry monitoring, and secure secret handling.
- Pod health management using startup, readiness, and liveness probes; troubleshooting CrashLoopBackOff, OOMKilled, pending pods, and scheduling issues.
- Horizontal Pod Autoscaler, resource requests/limits, cluster autoscaling, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancers, routing, NAT/PAT, Istio ingress/gateway, and secure partner connectivity.

Desired Competencies (Technical / Behavioral)
Must-Have
- 10+ years in DevOps / cloud platform engineering, including hands-on ownership of production GKE environments.
- Administer and support multi-environment GKE clusters, node pools, workloads, namespaces, services, Istio gateways, and Kubernetes access controls.
- Create and maintain automated CI and CD pipelines with quality gates, artifact promotion, rollback, and environment approvals.
- Implement GitOps workflows with Argo CD and Helm; diagnose synchronization, manifest, image, configuration, and deployment failures.
- Remediate security vulnerabilities across container images, dependencies, Kubernetes configurations, IAM, secrets, and network controls within agreed SLAs.
- Design Prometheus metrics and Grafana dashboards for cluster, pod, application, TCP/IP connection, latency, error, and capacity monitoring.
- Manage ConfigMaps, Kubernetes Secrets, Key Vault references, environment variables, and configuration parity across DEV, QA, PT, PROD, and DR.
- Manage certificates, TLS termination, trust chains, renewal, rotation, expiry alerts, and secure distribution across services and gateways.
- Configure and tune liveness, readiness, and startup probes; investigate unhealthy pods and restore service quickly.
- Configure HPA and cluster autoscaling based on CPU, memory, and custom metrics; tune resource requests and limits using performance-test evidence.
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Groovy and working knowledge of YAML, Git, Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes troubleshooting.
- Strong communication, customer interaction, documentation, problem-solving, ownership, and production-support capabilities.
Valuable-to-Have
- RxClaim, pharmacy claims, healthcare, or high-volume transaction-processing domain exposure.
- Experience with Spring Boot microservices, MongoDB Atlas, OpenTelemetry, Splunk, Snyk or equivalent security platforms.
- Experience with TCP/IP Layer 4 workloads, persistent socket connections, F5 load balancing, Istio traffic management, blue-green and canary deployments.
- Experience supporting multi-region, disaster recovery, failover, performance testing, and production go-live activities.

Responsibilities

Own day-to-day administration, reliability, security, and operational health of RxLink GKE clusters and deployed workloads.

Build, enhance, and support CI/CD and GitOps pipelines for repeatable, controlled, auditable deployments across environments.

Monitor platform and application health using Prometheus and Grafana; create actionable dashboards, alerts, runbooks, and operational reports.

Investigate failed deployments, unhealthy pods, resource contention, networking issues, certificate problems, configuration drift, and production incidents.

Partner with development, QA, security, cloud engineering, network, architecture, and customer teams to resolve blockers and improve release readiness.

Maintain environment-specific configurations, secrets, certificates, access controls, deployment manifests, and configuration inventories.

Perform security remediation, dependency and image patching, policy compliance, evidence collection, and closure validation.

Tune pod resources, probes, HPA, cluster autoscaling, node capacity, and rollout strategies based on load and performance-test results.

Support blue-green, canary, rollback, disaster recovery, production deployment, go-live, hypercare, and post-production support activities.

Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, deployment checklists, and knowledge-transfer material.
