About Autom8AIAutom8AI is building the next generation of intelligent workflow automation. Our platform enables businesses to build, deploy, and manage powerful automation pipelines without having to write complex code.
We're an early-stage startup moving quickly, experimenting constantly, and building products where engineering decisions have a direct impact on what customers experience. Our goal is to make business automation simpler, more intelligent, and accessible to teams of all sizes.
About the RoleWe're looking for a Full Stack Engineer who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems and taking ownership of features from idea to production.
You'll work across the entire stack, from designing database schemas and building backend services to creating responsive, pixel-perfect interfaces. You'll work closely with the founding team, contribute to architecture and product decisions, and ship features that go directly into the product.
This role is ideal for someone who wants more than just a defined set of tickets. You'll have the opportunity to understand how a real SaaS product is built, work with asynchronous systems and third-party integrations, and solve the engineering challenges that come with building an automation platform.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and ship full-stack features across our Next.js frontend and Node.js backend, taking ownership from implementation through production.
- Build clean, maintainable, and strongly typed applications using TypeScript across the stack.
- Design and maintain PostgreSQL databases, including schemas, relationships, indexes, and migrations using Prisma ORM.
- Build and maintain type-safe APIs and server-side logic using tRPC and related backend technologies.
- Integrate third-party services and APIs,
including authentication and OAuth 2.0 flows for platforms such as Google, Gmail, LinkedIn, and other business applications.
- Work with background jobs, scheduled workflows, queues, and event-driven execution to power reliable automation pipelines.
- Contribute to system architecture decisions involving queue systems, scheduling, workflow execution, data modeling, and asynchronous processing.
- Debug complex frontend and backend issues, understand failures across asynchronous systems, and own fixes end-to-end.
- Work closely with the founding team to turn product ideas into reliable, production-ready features.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering practices that keep the codebase scalable and maintainable.
What You Need To SucceedRequired
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React.
- Hands-on experience with Next.js, preferably the App Router.
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and relational database concepts.
- Experience with Prisma ORM or a similar ORM.
- Familiarity with tRPC or other type-safe API frameworks.
- Good understanding of REST APIs and OAuth 2.0.
- Robust fundamentals in Data Structures and Algorithms, particularly concepts such as graph traversal, topological sorting, queues, and scheduling.
- Ability to read, debug, and reason about complex asynchronous code and workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on technical challenges.
- Willingness to learn, experiment, and work in a fast-moving startup environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience building SaaS products, developer tools, or automation platforms.
- Experience with Supabase or similar Backend-as-a-Service platforms.
- Familiarity with BullMQ, RabbitMQ, or other job-queue systems.
- Knowledge of AI/LLM integrations, including OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini APIs.
- Understanding of webhooks and event-driven architectures.
- Experience working with workflow engines, schedulers, or distributed systems.
- Prior experience working in an early-stage startup.
What You'll Get
- Direct mentorship from the founding team and exposure to real product and engineering decisions.
- Ownership over meaningful features from day one, rather than working only on isolated tasks.
- The opportunity to work across the entire technology stack and understand how a production SaaS platform is built.
- Fast feedback loops, build, ship, learn, and see your work used in the real product.
- Exposure to AI, workflow automation, APIs, distributed systems, and modern web technologies.
- A flexible, friendly, and cooperative working environment.
- Flexible working hours, to be discussed before onboarding.
- Compensation based on experience and contribution.
On-Boarding Process
- Assignment Round: Shortlisted candidates will receive a practical, assignment-based evaluation with sufficient time to complete it.
- Technical Round: Candidates who successfully complete the assignment will proceed to one technical interview.
- Final Selection: Based on the assignment and technical round, selected candidates will receive an offer letter.
- 15-Day Evaluation: After joining, candidates will undergo an initial 15-day evaluation period. The final stipend within the stated range will be decided based on performance, skills, and contribution during this period.
Why Join Autom8AI?At Autom8AI, you'll be joining at a stage where your work can genuinely shape the product. There are no layers of bureaucracy between an engineering decision and its impact.
If you enjoy building things, solving problems that don't always have obvious answers, and want to work closely with people who are building a product from the ground up, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while growing rapidly as an engineer.
