Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Fire Safety Management
- Develop, implement, and monitor fire safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure all fire protection systems are functional and maintained.
- Conduct regular inspections of fire extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, alarms, and emergency lighting.
- Coordinate testing and maintenance of firefighting equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Fire Department regulations and fire safety standards.
1. Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local fire, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain statutory records, permits, licenses, and safety documentation.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
- Ensure closure of audit observations within stipulated timelines.
- Monitor contractor and vendor compliance with safety requirements.
1. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control
- Identify potential workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-miss events.
- Implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as hot work, confined space entry, and work at heights.
1. Emergency Preparedness & Response
- Prepare and maintain emergency response plans.
- Organize fire drills and mock evacuation exercises.
- Train emergency response teams and fire wardens.
- Coordinate emergency response during fire, accidents, or natural disasters.
- Ensure emergency assembly points and evacuation routes are clearly identified.
1. Safety Training & Awareness
- Conduct safety induction programs for employees and contractors.
- Organize fire safety and first aid training sessions.
- Promote safety awareness campaigns and toolbox talks.
- Educate employees on PPE usage and safe work practices.
- Develop safety communication materials and notices.
1. Inspection & Monitoring
- Inspect workplace conditions for compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections.
- Ensure safety signages are properly displayed and maintained.
- Verify compliance with permit-to-work systems.
1. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain incident, accident, and inspection records.
- Prepare monthly safety reports and MIS dashboards.
- Document fire drills, training records, and corrective actions.
- Submit compliance reports to management and regulatory authorities.
- Track safety KPIs and recommend improvements.
1. Vendor & Contractor Safety Management
- Review contractor safety performance.
- Ensure contractors follow company safety procedures.
- Conduct contractor safety orientations.
- Verify contractor qualifications, certifications, and PPE compliance.
- Monitor contractor activities in high-risk areas.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Fire & Safety Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field.
- Certification in Fire Safety, NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent preferred.
