As we continue to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented Financial Operations Analyst to support our financial operations, transaction monitoring, reconciliation, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
Role Overview:
The Financial Operations Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing day-to-day financial transactions, performing reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, preparing operational reports, and supporting the Finance and Operations teams in maintaining accurate and efficient financial processes.
The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and an understanding of financial transactions, payment operations, reconciliation, and fintech processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of financial transactions across bank accounts, payment processors, wallets, and internal systems.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve transaction discrepancies, mismatches, failed transactions, and settlement differences.
- Monitor transaction flows and ensure accurate recording of financial activities.
- Track pending, failed, reversed, refunded, and disputed transactions.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external payment/banking partners to resolve operational issues.
- Maintain accurate records of reconciliation activities and outstanding items.
Transaction Monitoring
- Monitor transaction activity and identify unusual patterns, exceptions, or operational anomalies.
- Analyze transaction data to identify errors, process gaps, and potential financial risks.
- Investigate customer transaction issues and coordinate with relevant teams for timely resolution.
- Track transaction volumes, settlement status, fees, FX-related movements,
and other operational metrics.
- Support investigation of payment failures and settlement discrepancies.
Reporting and Data analysis:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial operations reports.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key operational and financial KPIs.
- Analyze transaction trends, volumes, costs, revenue-related data, and operational performance.
- Provide insights and recommendations to Finance and Operations leadership.
- Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and supported by reliable data.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial operations processes and reduce manual effort.
- Support automation of reconciliation, reporting, and operational workflows.
- Document financial processes, controls, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in process improvement and system implementation projects.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Customer Support, and Finance teams to improve operational efficiency.
- Follow established financial controls and operational procedures.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required reports, transaction records, and documentation.
- Maintain proper documentation for financial adjustments and reconciliation entries.
- Escalate material discrepancies, operational risks, or control issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Support compliance-related financial operations activities where required.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent are an advantage but not mandatory.
Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in financial operations, reconciliation, accounting operations, payments, fintech, banking, or a similar environment.
- Experience working with transaction-level financial data is highly preferred.
- Experience in a payments, remittance, banking, or fintech organization will be an added advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets , including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data validation, and data analysis.
- Experience working with financial or transaction management systems.
- Familiarity with SQL or BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker is an advantage.
- Ability to work with large datasets and identify inconsistencies or anomalies.
- Experience with reconciliation and reporting tools is preferred.
