Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Finance &

- HR Manager to take full ownership of ULQ India finance and general operations as a key individual contributor. This role is responsible for end-to-end accounting, statutory and tax compliance, providing financial analysis to support business decision-making, as well as providing local administrative and HR support. The ideal candidate is a qualified CA with experience in Big 4 and/ or fintech or financial services industries, who is comfortable working independently and partnering with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Accounting &
- Controllership

- Manage end-to-end accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and month-end/year-end closures.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial books in compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).
- Establish and maintain robust internal financial controls, SOPs, and financial governance processes.
- Support statutory, internal, and tax audits and ensure smooth closure.

- Tax Filing &
- Compliance

- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory returns including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and ROC filings.
- Liaise with external tax consultants and statutory auditors on tax assessments, disputes, and compliance matters.
- Monitor regulatory changes (including RBI guidelines where applicable) and ensure the company remains fully compliant.
- Maintain accurate records of tax payments, TDS, demand payments, and litigations, and reconcile with ITR filings.

- Financial Analysis &
- Reporting

- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly,



and annual financial reports including P&L;, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Analyze revenue, cost, margins, opex and business performance trends, providing actionable insights to leadership.

- Treasury &
- Cash Management

- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity positions to support business operations and growth.
- Oversee bank and vendor reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Audit

- Respond to internal and external audit requests as required, providing accurate and timely information and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to gather and validate information required for audit activities, ensuring requests are addressed within agreed timelines.
- Support the audit process by maintaining appropriate records and responding to follow-up queries or requests for clarification as needed.

- Local HR Support &
- General Operations

- Provide local support for hiring and onboarding processes (such as interview scheduling, candidate communication, and employment agreement execution) in coordination with Head of HR.
- Maintain employee master records and leave/ attendance data in HiBob following internal guidelines.




- Act as the local point of contact for third-party payroll vendors to facilitate timely payroll data inputs, tax submissions, and statutory contributions.
- Support local offboarding and exit documentation procedures.
- Handle day-to-day office administrative matters, coordinate with external suppliers (facilities, supplies), maintain IT/ office asset registers, and assist with corporate/ statutory filing documentation.

Qualifications &

- Experience

Education

- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or other related majors, MBA in Finance is a plus.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.

Experience:
- 4-7 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, and tax compliance, with at least 2-3 years in big 4, fintech, or financial services environment.

Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Ind AS, GST, TDS, Income Tax, and ROC compliance requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas) and experience with ERP/finance software.
- Experience with Zoho Books, or similar accounting software is a plus.

Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- High integrity, ownership mindset, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and build robust cross-functional relationships.
