Project Overview The "Empowerment of Women Farmers in Gadchiroli" project will work with tribal communities in the remote villages of Dhanora and Korchi blocks. It aims to strengthen womens institutions, climate-resilient agriculture, forest and livestock-based livelihoods, nutrition and health, inclusive participation, and evidence-based programme delivery. The approach emphasizes community ownership through womens SHGs, producer organizations, Gram Sabhas, government convergence, and sustainable local enterprises.

The role will implement livestock-based livelihood interventions and work with womens groups, community institutions, veterinary services, and government agencies to improve animal health, women-led enterprises, household income, and nutritional security.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare village and cluster work plans and mobilize livestock-rearing households into SHGs and producer groups.
- Promote backyard poultry, goat rearing, dairy, piggery, fishery, and suitable enterprises with improved breeding, feeding, housing, and health practices.
- Organize animal health camps, vaccination, deworming, disease surveillance, and preventive-care awareness.
- Conduct trainings, demonstrations, exposure visits, and prepare local-language IEC materials.
- Facilitate access to livestock schemes, credit, inputs, entrepreneurship, and livelihood support. Support women-led enterprises through business planning,



quality inputs, procurement, and market linkages.
- Maintain project records, MIS, field data, progress reports, and documentation.
- Coordinate with VOs, CLFs, CRPs, Gram Panchayats, veterinary departments, NGOs, institutions, and partners.
- Participate in reviews, monitoring visits, evaluations, and compliance processes.
- Ensure quality implementation with gender inclusion, community participation, nutrition, and sustainability.

Qualification Diploma or Bachelors degree in Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Livestock Production, Agriculture, Rural Development, Dairy Technology, or a related discipline.

Experience

Minimum 3-4 years in livestock extension, animal husbandry, rural livelihoods, community development, or livestock-based programmes.

Languages: Marathi essential; working Hindi and English; Gondi or Madia is an advantage. Extensive travel required.

Period: Sep 2026 - May 2027 (8 months) Extendable for additional 2 years based on performance and project funding
