Role Purpose:

The Facility Manager will be responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, hygienic, and well-maintained school environment for students up to Grade 2, with a robust focus on proactive risk management and day-to-day operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure the overall safety and readiness of the school building, including classrooms, corridors, staircases, washrooms, play areas, activity spaces, and common areas.

- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards, particularly those relevant to young children.

- Ensure all furniture, fixtures, electrical points, doors, windows, play equipment, and other student-accessible infrastructure are safe and well maintained.

- Ensure the school is adequately prepared for fire, medical, evacuation, and other emergencies, including regular checks of emergency exits, fire safety equipment, alarms, and evacuation routes.

- Coordinate and monitor housekeeping, maintenance, security, and other support staff, ensuring appropriate deployment and adherence to school safety protocols.

- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, drinking water,



and waste management across the school premises.

- Manage access to the building in coordination with the security team, ensuring controlled movement of visitors, contractors, and service personnel within student areas.

- Oversee maintenance activities and contractors, ensuring that repair or construction work does not compromise student safety or normal school operations.

- Maintain and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for critical infrastructure, equipment, and building systems, ensuring timely servicing and repairs.

- Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, maintenance issues, corrective actions, and statutory certifications, and escalate critical concerns promptly.

- Work closely with school leadership and other teams to address facility-related requirements and ensure the building remains child-friendly, accessible, and fit for purpose.

- Develop a strong child-first and preventive safety culture, ensuring potential risks are identified and resolved before they result in an incident.
