Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and result-oriented Fabrication Production Engineer to oversee the fabrication of sheet metal components and electrical control panel enclosures. The candidate will be responsible for production planning, fabrication process control, manpower management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement to achieve production targets while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Execution

- Plan and monitor daily fabrication activities as per the production schedule.
- Ensure timely completion of fabrication jobs to meet delivery commitments.
- Coordinate with PPC, Design, Purchase, Stores, and Quality departments.
- Monitor production output and optimize machine utilization.

Fabrication Process Management
- Supervise sheet metal fabrication processes including:
- CNC Laser Cutting
- CNC Punching
- Bending (Press Brake)
- Welding (MIG/TIG/Spot)
- Grinding & Finishing
- Assembly
- Interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOMs accurately.
- Ensure fabrication activities are carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.

Quality Control
- Ensure fabricated components meet dimensional and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality department for inspections.
- Reduce rework and rejection through process improvements.




- Implement corrective and preventive actions for production issues.

Manpower Management
- Supervise welders, fitters, machine operators, and helpers.
- Allocate manpower efficiently based on production priorities.
- Train shop-floor employees on fabrication techniques and safety.
- Maintain discipline and productivity within the department.

Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and PPE requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections in the fabrication area.
- Promote 5S, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing practices.
- Maintain compliance with ISO and company quality procedures.

Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily production reports.
- Monitor machine downtime and production efficiency.
- Maintain fabrication records and production documentation.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance with the Maintenance team.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Fabrication Technology.

Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication or electrical control panel manufacturing.
- Experience in fabrication industries, control panel manufacturing, or industrial equipment manufacturing will be preferred.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and fabrication layouts.
- Knowledge of welding, bending, laser cutting, and assembly operations.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.
- Positive problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production reporting.
