GDS Deal Management - Core Manager India
Within EY, the Deal Management team services clients with a full range of hands-on, operationally focused support and advice across the transaction life cycle, across buyers and sellers. We cover a wide range of operational aspects, including divestiture advisory services, carve-out readiness and support, operational due diligence, synergy assessment and delivery, day-one readiness assessment, 100 day planning, integration process support, carve-out/stand-alone costs assessment and risks, and cost reduction.

The opportunity

Your key responsibilities
- Lead complex carve-out, integration, and Deal Management engagements, overseeing project execution, synergy assessments, standalone costing, financial analysis, risk management, and stakeholder coordination to deliver successful transaction outcomes.
- Drive strategic decision-making by identifying value creation opportunities, resolving critical project issues, and continuously enhancing delivery methodologies, tools, and operating models.
- Lead industry, sector, and transaction analyses to assess market dynamics, evaluate portfolio strategies, identify growth opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to clients and senior leadership.
- Manage client relationships and engagement teams, serving as a trusted advisor to key decision-makers throughout the transaction lifecycle and helping clients maximize deal value.
- Take ownership of engagement delivery quality, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, effective governance, and adherence to EY methodologies, quality standards, and project timelines.
- Mentor, coach, and develop high-performing teams, conducting performance reviews, providing constructive feedback, identifying development opportunities, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Oversee the collection and analysis of primary and secondary research, synthesizing complex data into strategic insights, executive-level presentations, and recommendations that support transaction and transformation decisions.
- Contribute to practice growth initiatives, including business development, proposal preparation, thought leadership, knowledge management, and capability-building efforts across the Deal Management practice.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams, managing multiple stakeholders across geographies and service lines to ensure seamless execution and delivery of client objectives.
- Support revenue growth and account expansion efforts by identifying follow-on opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to pursuit and sales activities.
Skills and attributes for success
- Possess financial analysis and cost improvement experience from pre- and post-deal transactions, with the ability to link detailed operational analysis to P&L;, cash flow and balance sheet
- In-depth sector and company decks providing insights as per the EY Capital Agenda approach
- Understanding of M&A; life cycle, carve-out / integration of a business post-announcement of transaction, cross-border M&A;
- Ability to determine risks and opportunity areas
- Skill to synthesize approaches to complex carve-out and integration conflicts
- Talent to adapt to recent challenges and ideas
- Excellent problem solving, project management, facilitation and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Post Graduate degree in business, accounting, finance, engineering, computer science or related field from a premier institute with 8-12 years of applicable industry and/or consulting experience
- Basic understanding of M&A; life cycle, carve-out / integration of a business post-announcement of transaction, cross-border M&A;
- Well versed with MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Should be proficient in Market research, Opportunity analysis and should have good understanding of research databasesWillingness to undertake
- international travel as per business requirement
