Role & responsibilities :

1. Import & Export Operations

- Manage shipment planning for inbound imports and outbound exports.
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers and customers for dispatch schedules.
- Handle container booking, vessel planning, and shipment tracking.
- Ensure timely clearance of goods at ports.

2. Documentation & Compliance

- Prepare and verify import/export documentation, including:

- Commercial Invoice

- Packing List
- Bill of Lading / Airway Bill

- Certificate of Origin

- Insurance Documents
- File and manage Advance Licence applications through the DGFT portal.
- Ensure compliance with DGFT, Customs, and international trade regulations.
- Manage HS codes, duties, and tariff classifications for steel and aluminium products.
- Knowledge of GST related to import/export transactions.

3. Customs Clearance

- Liaise with CHA (Custom House Agents) for customs clearance.
- Handle customs queries, inspections, and duty payments.
- Ensure adherence to Indian customs regulations and policies.

4. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transporters.
- Negotiate freight rates and optimize logistics costs.
- Maintain effective relationships with suppliers, port authorities,



and internal procurement teams.

5. Inventory & Warehouse Coordination

- Track inventory movement from port to warehouse.
- Coordinate unloading, storage, and dispatch activities.
- Ensure proper handling of heavy materials such as coils, sheets, billets, etc.

6. Cost Control & Reporting

- Monitor logistics costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare MIS reports covering shipments, delays, and logistics costs.
- Analyze freight trends and recommend improvement measures.

7. Risk Management

- Handle shipment delays, damages, and insurance claims.
- Coordinate with insurance companies for claims settlement.
- Ensure safe handling of materials and compliance with safety norms.

Preferred candidate profile :

- 38 years of experience in Import/Export Logistics.
- Experience in Manufacturing or heavy industry will be preferred.
- Hands-on experience in port operations and customs clearance.
- Strong knowledge of import/export documentation and procedures.
- Working knowledge of DGFT, Customs, HS Codes, and international trade regulations.
- Good coordination and negotiation skills.
- Robust communication and stakeholder management skills.
