Purpose of the Role

To plan, execute, monitor, and control civil construction and infrastructure projects across manufacturing facilities, ensuring timely delivery of new infrastructure, capacity enhancement initiatives, and maintenance of plant civil assets while meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, and Environment (SQDCME) objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. New Infrastructure Project Execution

- Review plant layouts, infrastructure requirements, logistics flow, and equipment installation plans for new projects.
- Prepare project estimates, budgets, execution strategies, and implementation timelines.
- Develop preliminary infrastructure plans and obtain necessary approvals.
- Execute and monitor civil construction projects from concept to handover while ensuring compliance with SQDCME standards.
- Assess manpower, equipment, and contractor resource requirements and monitor deployment.
- Establish project milestones and track progress against planned schedules in coordination with Planning and CPED teams.
- Ensure project delivery within approved budgets, quality standards, and timelines through effective resource and risk management.

2. Contractor & Vendor Management

- Coordinate with contractors and vendors following PO release for resource mobilization and execution planning.
- Monitor contractor performance, productivity, safety compliance, and project progress.
- Review contractor execution methodologies and ensure adherence to project deliverables.
- Validate contractor measurements, work completion status, and billing submissions.

3. Material Planning & Procurement Support

- Estimate material requirements based on approved designs, drawings, and project scope.
- Monitor material consumption and ensure accurate reconciliation during contractor billing.
- Inspect critical and bulk material deliveries for compliance with technical specifications and quality requirements.
- Conduct periodic stock verification at contractor sites to minimize wastage and optimize procurement planning.
- Ensure safe handling and transportation of materials within plant premises in line with safety norms.

4. Capacity Enhancement & Plant Modification Projects

- Conduct feasibility studies for shop expansion, infrastructure modifications, and capacity enhancement projects.




- Review engineering drawings and provide practical site-based inputs for constructability improvement.
- Identify potential bottlenecks affecting production and recommend corrective actions before project execution.
- Monitor project execution to ensure minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate shutdown activities and infrastructure modifications in alignment with production schedules.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to plant infrastructure and facilities.

5. Infrastructure Maintenance & Compliance

- Support preventive and corrective maintenance of plant civil infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, factory requirements, and environmental norms.
- Coordinate with consultants for structural audits, certifications, and stability approvals.
- Ensure adherence to EHS, ISO 14001, and organizational governance requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

- Fulltime Diploma in Engineering discipline

Experience

- 3-10 years of experience in Civil Construction, Industrial Infrastructure Projects, Plant Expansion, or Facilities Development.
- Experience in Automotive, Manufacturing, Heavy Engineering, Industrial Plants, or Large Infrastructure Projects preferred.
- Hands-on exposure to project execution from planning through commissioning.
- Experience managing contractors, budgets, quality, safety, and project schedules.
