Before you can price a project, you have to know exactly what’s in it. This involves:
- Reviewing Blueprints: Analyzing architectural and engineering drawings (CAD, BIM) to understand the scope.
- Quantity Take-off (QTO): Calculating the exact quantities of materials needed—from the number of bolts to the cubic meters of concrete.
1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting
Once you have the quantities, you apply the costs. This isn't just looking at a price tag; it's calculating:
- Direct Costs: Material, labor, and equipment.
- Indirect Costs: Site overheads, transport, and insurance.
- Risk Assessment: Factor in inflation, potential delays, and market volatility.
1. Tendering and Bidding
This is the "competitive" part of the job. You help prepare the Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
and the final tender document to submit to the client. You need to find the "sweet spot" where the price is low enough to win the contract but high enough to cover all expenses and profit.
1. Vendor and Subcontractor Management
You aren't a lone wolf. You'll spend significant time:
- Requesting quotes from suppliers.
- Comparing subcontractor bids to ensure they align with the project's technical requirements.
- Negotiating for better rates to improve the project's margin.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From ₹10,000.00 per month
