Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager (Techno-Functional) to lead high-performing engineering teams while driving the successful delivery of enterprise-scale applications. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and AWS, combined with excellent stakeholder management, escalation handling, and people leadership skills.
This role requires someone who can effectively bridge business and technology, manage large cross-functional teams, resolve critical delivery issues, and ensure projects are delivered on time with high quality.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership
- Lead multiple engineering teams and manage a team of 30–100+ engineers across projects.
- Drive technical strategy, engineering excellence, and continuous process improvement.
- Provide technical guidance on Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Cloud Architecture, and enterprise application development.
- Review solution architecture and ensure adherence to coding standards, security, scalability, and performance best practices.
- Partner with architects and technical leads to build scalable, resilient, and cloud-native applications.
Techno-Functional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Act as the bridge between business, engineering, product, and delivery teams.
- Participate in solution discussions, effort estimation, roadmap planning, and release management.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and engineering execution.
Escalation & Delivery Management
- Own and manage critical customer, delivery, and production escalations.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions for recurring issues.
- Monitor project health, identify delivery risks, and execute mitigation plans.
- Ensure timely delivery while maintaining quality, security, and compliance standards.
- Manage dependencies across multiple teams and projects.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with clients, business leaders,
and executive stakeholders.
- Provide regular project status updates, risk assessments, and executive-level reports.
- Participate in governance meetings and steering committee reviews.
- Handle client communication during critical production incidents and escalations.
People Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers, technical leads, and software engineers.
- Conduct performance reviews, career development discussions, succession planning, and coaching.
- Drive hiring, onboarding, resource planning, and team capacity management.
- Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Improve employee engagement and retention within engineering teams.
Agile & Delivery Excellence
- Drive Agile delivery methodologies and engineering best practices.
- Track team velocity, sprint health, and delivery KPIs.
- Ensure high standards of code quality through reviews, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives across engineering teams.
Required Technical Skills

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12–18 years of software engineering experience with at least 5+ years in engineering leadership or delivery management.
- Experience managing enterprise-scale, cloud-based applications.
- Proven track record of leading large engineering organizations and delivering complex technology programs.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with enterprise digital transformation initiatives.
- Exposure to DevOps, SRE, and cloud migration programs.
- Knowledge of security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
