The role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who combines robust backend engineering depth with the ability to lead and develop a high-quality engineering team.

This is not a management-only role. You will remain close to architecture, code, systems design and production problem-solving, while also owning hiring, mentoring, execution and engineering standards.

You will work directly with the founders and can grow into broader engineering leadership as the company scales.

What you will own

- Build and scale backend systems for payments and transactions
- Design reliable APIs and external partner integrations
- Strengthen reconciliation, settlements and exception management
- Build risk, fraud and transaction-monitoring capabilities
- Improve analytics, reporting and data infrastructure
- Own architecture, code reviews and production reliability
- Lead, mentor and hire engineers
- Improve engineering velocity without compromising quality
- Make GoPaisa an AI-native engineering organisation

AI-native engineering We want AI embedded across how software is built and operated.



This is not an AI branding exercise. You will help define how AI materially improves engineering quality, speed and operating leverage.

- Log and anomaly analysis
- Risk and fraud intelligence
- Workflow automation
- Analytics and reporting

What we are looking for?

- 6-10 years of software-engineering experience
- Strong backend, platform or distributed-systems depth
- Experience leading engineers or technical workstreams
- Current hands-on coding and architecture involvement
- Experience with APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure and production systems
- Strong ownership and sound technical judgment
- Comfort working directly with founders
- Interest in payments, data, risk and AI-native engineering
- Experience in fintech, payments, consumer internet, marketplaces or high-scale product companies is valuable, but not mandatory.
- Academic pedigree is welcome, but evidence of building difficult systems matters more.

Pay: ₹1,800,000.00 - ₹2,500,000.00 per year
