: Design Engineer | Engine Engineering

Scope: Primary responsibility is Engine design

Technical experience:

- Good knowledge of IC engines - diesel / petrol engines.
- Design and development of engine components such as cylinder head, cylinder block, crankshaft, connecting rod, piston, timing system, lubrication and cooling systems.
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and metallurgy.
- Engine fluid knowledge Oil, Fuel and coolant
- Good knowledge in FIE system, EGR system, Air management and Exhaust after treatment systems
- Basic knowledge about engine emission India / Global
- Perform design calculations, tolerance stack-up and basic engineering analysis.
- Work closely with CAE, testing, manufacturing, quality, sourcing and aftermarket
- Collaboration experience with RnD and engine supplier network
- Support DFMEA, design reviews, validation and verification activities.
- Experience in field failures Root cause analysis and implement design improvements.





Ensure designs meet cost, weight, performance, durability and reliability targets.
- Support prototype development, testing and production
- Coordinate with suppliers for component development and technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant emission, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of FEA/CAE and engine testing.
- Basic understanding of NVH, thermal management, lubrication and combustion

Tools:

- Proficiency in Creo / CATIA / UG-NX.
- Solid knowledge in 3D, 2D, GD&T; and engineering specifications.
- Manage engineering changes through appropriate ECR/ECN processes.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, tolerance analysis and DFM/DFA.

Academic:

- Bachelor / Master of Engg / Technology in Automobile / Mechanical / Thermal engg / IC Engine
- Min 5 years experience in engine design
