Purpose - Why does this role exist?

To support in-house E&M; design/engineering review activities for Pumped Storage

Projects (Bhavali-1500 MW & Kandhaura-1680 MW) at JSW Energy by coordinating with consultants, reviewing design deliverables, ensuring timely issue of drawings/reports, and contributing to design optimization, quantity validation and technical closure from the Delhi office.

Key Result Areas (Key Performance Indicators)

Design & Engineering Review

- · Review of E&M; drawings and documents submitted by manufacturer, consultant for

Hydro and Pumped Storage Projects.
- · Ensure timely review and closure of design submissions from consultants.
- · Verify compliance with applicable engineering standards, project specifications, and

statutory requirements.
- · Co-ordinate among civil, HM, consultants and the Contractor for inputs sharing and

development of Civil construction drawings.
- · Arriving at Final Technical specifications for Bought Out items like Cranes, Elevators DG

sets etc. in coordination consultant.
- · Evaluation of technical bids and technical recommendation of Bought out items.

Design Optimization & Value Engineering
- · Identify opportunities for cost optimization and enhanced constructability.
- · Evaluate alternative design solutions to improve technical and commercial outcomes.
- · Support value engineering initiatives during project development and execution stages.
- · Prepare technical comparisons and recommendations for management approvals.

Interdisciplinary Coordination
- · Coordinate with Civil, Hydro-Mechanical, Site execution team and Geological teams.
- · Resolve engineering interfaces and design conflicts across disciplines.
- · Review technical recommendations and assess impact on design.



· Provide technical support to project execution teams and site stakeholders. Documentation & Technical Governance · Review Detailed Project Reports (DPR), Technical Specifications and Engineering Standards and guidelines. · Maintain design review trackers, correspondence records and document control systems. · Support preparation of tender documents and engineering scope packages. · Ensure compliance with quality management systems and engineering best practices. In process and Final acceptance Quality Tests witnessing · Inspection of various E&M; components as per standard, approved QAPs at manufacturer premises. · Evaluation of Test reports and Inspection reports to for dispatch clearances.

Educational Background and Work Experience

Educational Background

- · B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)
- · M.E./M.Tech in Power system, Mechanical/Electrical Machine Design or related

specialization (Preferred)

Work Experience

- · 10-15 years of experience in E&M; Design and Engineering.
- · Experience in Hydro Power Projects, Pumped Storage Projects (PSP), Large Dams and

Underground Hydro Structures.
- · Exposure to design management, consultant coordination and multidisciplinary

engineering environments.
- · Experience in construction support and engineering interface management will be

preferred.
- · Knowledge of statutory approvals and regulatory requirements related to hydro projects

will be an added advantage.
