Job Title: SUBSTATION SITE ENGINEER

Reports To: Project Manager / RCM

Location: Gujarat / Project Sites

1. JOB PURPOSE

The Substation Site Engineer will be responsible for the site execution, erection, installation, testing, commissioning and supervision of electrical substation works. The role involves ensuring that all site activities are executed as per approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements and project schedules. The position requires hands-on experience in substation erection, electrical equipment installation, testing & commissioning, cable laying, earthing, lighting and coordination with clients, subcontractors and site teams.

1. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Supervise and execute substation erection and electrical installation activities at site.
- Plan and monitor daily site activities as per project schedule.
- Prepare and submit Daily/Weekly/Monthly Site Progress Reports.
- Supervise installation and erection of:
- Transformers
- LT/HT Panels
- Switchgear
- Control Panels
- Cable Trays
- LT/HT Cables
- Earthing Systems
- Lighting Systems
- Other electrical equipment
- Perform and coordinate testing and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
- Ensure proper cable laying, termination, glanding and dressing as per approved drawings and standards.
- Monitor substation earthing and lightning protection works.
- Coordinate with client representatives, subcontractors, vendors and internal project teams.
- Conduct daily quality checks and ensure work is executed as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Record, analyze and maintain testing and commissioning data.




- Identify technical issues and provide appropriate troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Ensure strict compliance with EHS/Safety requirements at site.
- Raise service, manpower and material requirements as per project needs.
- Monitor availability and utilization of materials, manpower and equipment.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and labour teams for smooth execution of work.
- Attend site meetings with clients and project management.
- Maintain and periodically submit all required site documents and reports to the back office.
- Assist in preparation and submission of measurement sheets, bills and other project documentation.
- Support client inspection, testing, commissioning and handover activities.
- Supervise and guide site engineers, technicians and project team members as required.
- Handle site activities independently in the absence of the RCM/Project Manager, when required.

1. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Education:

- BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering may also be considered based on relevant experience.

Experience:

- 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical project execution/site engineering.
- Experience in substation erection, installation, testing and commissioning.
- Experience working with EPC / Electrical Construction / Infrastructure companies.
- Experience in handling subcontractors and multiple vendors at site.

Technical Skills:

- Positive knowledge of substation erection and electrical equipment installation.
- Knowledge of HT/LT panels, transformers, cables, earthing and lighting systems.
- Knowledge of testing and commissioning of electrical equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret Electrical SLDs, GA drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of site quality and EHS requirements.

Communication Skills:

- Good communication skills.
- Fluency in English, Hindi and Gujarati preferred.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with clients, subcontractors and site teams.

1. WORKING CONDITIONS

- Location: Project/Site Based – Gujarat and other project locations as required.
- Candidate should be willing to travel and work at project sites as per business requirements.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
