Role Description The EKS role at PPStack is a full time remote position responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Kubernetes clusters on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) to support scalable EdTech and digital platforms. This role includes setting up and maintaining containerized application environments, configuring networking, security, and observability tools, and optimizing performance and cost for multi-tenant learning and training solutions.
The individual will collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams to ensure reliable deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code practices across development, staging, and production environments.
Daily responsibilities involve monitoring cluster health, troubleshooting incidents, improving resilience and automation, and documenting best practices that align with PPStack’s security, compliance, and high-availability standards. The role also contributes to architecture decisions and continuous improvement for cloud infrastructure supporting AI-powered learning and career acceleration services.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Kubernetes fundamentals, containerization (Docker), and cluster operations.
- Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3), networking, and security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stacks, CloudWatch) to maintain high reliability.
- Familiarity with microservices architectures, API management, and deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, rolling updates).
- Experience with scripting or programming languages (Python, Bash, or similar) to automate operations and workflows.
- Understanding of security and compliance practices for cloud-native environments, including RBAC, secrets management, and TLS.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
