Role and Responsibility Details:
- Must gave have relevant experience and in-depth knowledge in any PostgreSQL administration task
- Should have experience on AWS RDS in setting up Postgres for redundancy across multiple regions and Disaster Recovery Planning.
- A database administrators responsibilities can include the following tasks:
- Perform installations and upgrades of PostgreSQL
- Plan and perform DB Patching.
- Knowledge of Database backups / Troubleshoot failures, query execution plans, performance tuning techniques
- Define maintenance plans.
- Configure / Troubleshoot Replication (BSR / xDB SMR / xDB MMR)
- Set up disaster recovery
- Perform Fail-over and Fail-backs
- Monitor servers through PEM
- Capacity planning
- Script database changes
- Experience with latest versions PostgreSQL EDB versions
- User Administration and Security
