About The Role The DevOps Engineer at CIBC India plays a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing the bank’s application deployment and infrastructure operations. This position involves overseeing DevOps and Test Setting support activities, contributing to the technical design, development, and integration of cross-functional, multi-platform applications. The role requires working closely with development teams, architects, and infrastructure specialists to ensure seamless deployment, environment stability, and continuous improvement of the technology stack.

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for managing incident resolution, certificate renewal, environment provisioning, and automation initiatives, all aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience in the IT industry, with a strong background in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and middleware administration. Proficiency in managing highly available services on RedHat Linux, Windows, and RedHat OpenShift is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and shell scripting, along with familiarity with build tools like Maven, Ant, and Golang.





Knowledge of databases such as SQLMI and MongoDB, as well as monitoring tools like Dynatrace and Splunk, is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to collaborate across diverse teams are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain automated build and deployment systems, including deploying applications on platforms like RedHat OpenShift, Azure DevOps, and Windows.
- Manage and configure API microservices and enterprise application platforms such as RedHat JBoss, ensuring their optimal performance and availability.
- Create and maintain Docker container images, ensuring consistency and repeatability across environments.
- Implement and sustain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins, fostering continuous integration and delivery.
- Act as a DevOps champion by promoting automation, process improvements, and a culture of continuous enhancement within the team.
- Handle incident management activities, including initial assessment, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and coordinating resolution efforts.
- Manage certificate renewal processes, ensuring security compliance and system integrity.
- Oversee environment provisioning, including environment booking, configuration management, and health monitoring to support project needs.
- Drive innovation by exploring new tools and techniques, challenging existing processes,



and seeking opportunities for operational excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as application development, QA, operations, and infrastructure to ensure successful project delivery and environment stability.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of deployment processes, environment configurations, and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards, and security guidelines at all times.
