Consultant- Pathologist

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities Examine, interpret, and report histopathology, cytopathology, hematology, and clinical pathology specimens. Correlate laboratory findings with clinical information and provide diagnostic opinions. Review and validate laboratory reports before release. Supervise day-to-day laboratory operations and ensure timely reporting. Guide and mentor junior pathologists, residents, and laboratory personnel. Ensure compliance with NABL, NABH, and statutory quality standards. Participate in quality assurance, internal quality control (IQC), and external quality assurance (EQAS) programs. Maintain laboratory quality indicators and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Coordinate with clinicians for complex cases and multidisciplinary discussions. Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and validation of laboratory equipment. Monitor laboratory safety, infection control, and biomedical waste management practices. Participate in hospital committees, CMEs, audits,



and quality improvement initiatives. Develop and update laboratory SOPs, protocols, and policies. Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of laboratory records. Assist in introducing recent diagnostic techniques and laboratory services. Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Medical Director or Hospital Management. Job Specification Qualification MBBS with MD/DNB in Pathology. Registration Valid National Medical Commission (NMC) / State Medical Council Registration. Experience Minimum 10+ years of post-MD/DNB experience as a Consultant/Senior Consultant Pathologist in a multispecialty hospital or accredited diagnostic laboratory. Skills Required Expertise in Histopathology, Cytopathology, Hematology, Clinical Pathology, and Laboratory Medicine. Strong diagnostic and analytical skills.
