About The Job:

- We are seeking a skilled Node/Java Developer Contractor with a strong background in building scalable, high-quality, and high-performance digital applications on the Java technology stack. This role is critical for developing microservice architectures and managing data with distributed databases and GraphQL interfaces.

- Data Engineering and Data Science skills will be a plus.

Essential Job Functions:

- Design and develop scalable services/microservices using Node and MVC architecture, ensuring clean, performant and maintainable code.

- Implement GraphQL APIs to enhance the functionality and performance of applications.

- Work with Cassandra and other distributed database systems to design robust, scalable database schemas that support business processes.

- Integrate multiple data sources and databases into unified systems while maintaining data integrity and security.

- Optimize application performance through profiling, code tuning, and troubleshooting.

- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features in a dynamic and agile environment.

- Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.

- Utilize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services effectively for deployment and scaling of applications.

- Provide guidance on the latest technologies and architectural approaches, including continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices.

- Experience with Observability and experience with Grafana, Datadog, Splunk is a plus.





- Individuals who can own a module and work with cross functional teams by communicating effectively preferred.

- Be part of a team of engineers in developing elegant and high performant code

- Ensure quality practices – unit testing, code reviews / leading tests

- Optimize application for non-functional requirements

- Build and deploy components as part of CI/CD process

- Will be responsible for end-to-end application delivery including coordination with required teams for production deployment

- Be an advocate of security best practices, champion and support the importance of security within engineering

Qualifications

Technical Skills/ Required

- Proficient in developing applications and web services, as well as cloud-native apps using Java, Spring Boot, REST, GraphQL

- 3+ years of experience programming using Observability tools like Grafana/Datadog/Prometheus.

- 3+ years of experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases

- Extensive experience in large-scale software development.

- Thorough understanding and hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, etc.

- Robust background in working with GCP cloud platform

- Demonstrated expertise in building and deploying services using CI/CD pipelines, leveraging tools like GitHub, CircleCI, Harness, Github Actions.

- Comprehensive knowledge on distributed NoSQL database as well as RDBMS e.g Spanner,Cassandra, Mongo.

- Working knowledge on event based system architecture leveraging Kafka infrastructure.

- Experience in building Observability in applications with OTel OR Prometheus is a plus

- Experience working in NodeJS is a plus.





Soft Skill

- Designing, developing, and deployment of front-end applications with limited oversight

- Excellent communication skills – design-related conversations, ability to build and nurture good relationships and foster an environment for collaboration

- Acting as a member of the team supporting teammates and collaborating with a do what it takes attitude to ensure project and team success
