Build relationships with developers and technology professionals — and help us build the distribution engine for a new technology publishing and learning company.

About SkillUpExchange

SkillUpExchange is building a new kind of technology publishing and learning company.

We work with experienced technology professionals and developers to create high-quality technical books, courses, audiobooks, and other learning products.

Our technology platform, AuthPlat, helps experts turn their knowledge into professionally produced technical content. SkillUpExchange is the consumer platform where these books and learning products are published, distributed, and connected with a broader technology learning community.

We are early-stage. This is not a role where you execute a fixed marketing playbook. You will help us build the playbook itself.

Our immediate focus is building relationships with developers and technology professionals who can become readers, early learners, community members, advocates, course participants — and eventually authors and instructors.

About the Role

We are hiring a Developer Relations Associate to build relationships with the technology community.

This is a people + research + communication + execution role.

You will spend a large part of your day identifying relevant technology professionals, reaching out on LinkedIn, starting conversations, introducing them to relevant books and learning products, and maintaining those relationships over time.

You will also work with our authors to help them build visibility for their books, support social media, develop partnerships with newsletters and technology creators, and maintain our growing community database.

You do not need to be a software developer. You do need to be comfortable learning about technology and talking intelligently with people who work in it.

This role is a particularly strong fit if you have already done work like:

- Marketing books, courses, or learning products
- Community outreach and author / creator coordination
- Building partnerships with events, newsletters, reviewers, or influencers
- Using LinkedIn to start real conversations — not blasting generic messages
- Keeping a CRM or pipeline organised so relationships do not get lost

What You Will Do
- Developer & technology community outreach
- Identify relevant developers, engineers, technical leaders, and technology enthusiasts on LinkedIn
- Build relationships with approximately 40 relevant professionals per working day
- Use the founder’s LinkedIn network as well as your own
- Research people before contacting them — understand why a person is relevant to a particular book or product
- Send personalised introductory messages and follow up without becoming spam
- Invite relevant people to become early readers, community members, or learning participants

- Build long-term relationships that are useful across multiple books and products
- Community & relationship management

Maintain our relationship database in Zoho Bigin. Record useful information such as:
- Who we have contacted, their role and company, and technology interests
- Which books they may be interested in
- Conversations, responses, and follow-up dates
- Early-reader participation, course interest, and partnership opportunities
- Potential future author / instructor opportunities

The objective is not simply to generate contacts. Every relationship should make future distribution easier.
- Author support & social media
- Work with authors to build awareness for their books
- Prepare LinkedIn content ideas (~2 posts per week per active author)
- Give authors options to review and approve, then coordinate publishing schedules
- Help authors turn expertise, launches, and ideas into useful social content
- Prepare content for SkillUpExchange, AuthPlat, and the founder’s LinkedIn presence
- Partnerships

Research and reach out to people and organisations that already have technology audiences:
- Technology newsletters, technical bloggers, YouTubers, podcasts
- Developer communities, educators, community organisers, relevant publications

Build prospect lists, start conversations, and track partnerships from first contact through to collaboration.
- Learn what works

Track the full funnel: identified → contacted → connected → responded → interested → read → engaged → community member → purchased / participated. We care about quality of relationships, not just the number of messages sent.

Who This Role Is For

You could be a great fit if you are:

- Curious about technology and comfortable learning new topics quickly
- Naturally at ease talking to people — including senior professionals
- Strong in written and spoken English
- Good at researching people and understanding what they do
- Persistent without being pushy
- Organised, consistent, and comfortable with targets
- Interested in LinkedIn and online communities
- Comfortable using AI tools and learning new software
- Ambitious, and interested in building something from scratch

Especially suitable if you have done any of the following:
- Title / book / course marketing, author coordination, or publishing outreach
- Community outreach, influencer / reviewer engagement, or event partnerships
- LinkedIn-led relationship building or lead generation
- Project coordination in publishing, edtech, or learning products
- Organised technology events, communities, or college clubs

You do not need:
- Prior developer relations experience
- To be a software developer
- A marketing degree, MBA, or experience at a large technology company

We care more about curiosity, communication, initiative, and the ability to build relationships than about your degree or previous job title. What Success Looks Like In your first few months, success means a real and growing network of relevant technology professionals. You will contribute to:
- Growth of our developer / technology skilled network
- Early-reader participation for our books
- Genuine Amazon reviews and reader feedback
- LinkedIn visibility and author-generated content
- Newsletter, creator, and community partnerships
- Growth of our CRM / community database
- A clearer picture of which outreach and distribution channels actually work

The most important shift you will help us make: “We have published a book.” → “We know how to consistently find the right people to read it.”

Compensation

Salary: ₹25,000 per month

Quarterly performance bonus: up to ₹35,000, based on agreed distribution and community-building objectives.

- Below 40%: ₹0
- 40–49%: ₹5,000
- 50–59%: ₹10,000
- 60–69%: ₹15,000
- 70–79%: ₹20,000
- 80–89%: ₹25,000
- 90–99%: ₹30,000
- 100%+: ₹35,000

Performance considers both results and quality. Spam, irrelevant outreach, misleading communication, or attempts to manipulate reviews will not count as successful performance. Location & Schedule
- Location: Mumbai — primarily in-office, working closely with the founder and team
- Monday–Friday: Office
- 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday: Working
- 2nd and 4th Saturday: Off
- Up to 2 work-from-home days per month

Why Join This is an early-stage role. You will not join an established marketing department with a predefined process.

You will help us build:

technology publishing → developer relationships → community → distribution → learning

As the company grows, this role can develop into broader responsibilities across Developer Relations, Community, Developer Programs, Technology Publishing, and Author / Content Acquisition.

If you are ambitious, curious about technology, and enjoy building relationships, you will have a much larger impact here than in a typical entry-level role at a large company.

How to Apply

Please apply with your resume and a short note explaining why you would be good at building relationships with technology professionals.

Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a short practical exercise:

- Find relevant technology professionals for a technical book
- Explain why those people are relevant
- Write an introductory LinkedIn message
- Think through how you would build a relationship with someone who responds

We care more about how you think and communicate than about having the perfect resume. Pay: ₹25,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
