Position: Senior Programmer Analyst

Department: LabCorp Core Business Solutions, Specialty Systems IT

Responsibilities The Individual in this role is responsible for understanding requirements, writing functional/technical specifications, estimating levels of effort, coding, and performing software analysis. Developing technical specifications includes Sequence Diagrams, Static Data Flow diagrams, Architecture design and corresponding documentation. The candidate will also be responsible for supporting the entire software development life cycle.

Support responsibilities may include diagnosing/resolving user-reported issues and occasional after-hour on-call support.

Developing Windows VB 6 Applications and Web Applications using VB .NET.

Must be able to develop solution architecture and design documentation using Microsoft Word, Visio and other tools

Must be familiar with data modeling for SQL Server DB2 and Sybase environments

Must have knowledge of ADO.Net and Web Services.

Must be able to take initiative to learn existing applications through reviewing code and analyzing data.

Solid understanding of Object Oriented analysis and design is required

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

Experience in the Bio Tech or Healthcare would be preferred

Experience with .Net Framework would be preferred





Required Skills and Work Experience A minimum of 6 years experience developing applications for Windows Family of OS using Client Server or Web based architecture; with a minimum of 5 years of VB 6 and VB.NET based application development.

Effective communication, team leadership and collaborations skills required to work with lab personnel and lab management, other members of the development team, broader collaboration with additional IT teams including database support, release management, business analysts, QA, operations and server teams.

Minimum 3 years’ experience software design and development experience with CAP compliant patient laboratory testing applications.

JD is inclined on 60% Database and 40% on VB
