Role & responsibilities
- Review consultant scopes, establish design deliverable schedules and timelines, and track deliverables through to stakeholder signoffs.
- Manage coordination between Architects, Structural, MEP and specialist consultants, ensuring timely resolution of design gaps and conflicts.
- Conduct and coordinate Design Team Meetings (DTMs), design workshops, and review meetings, including MOM preparation and closure of open actions.
- Review and quality-check design drawings at all stages, including GFC drawings, construction documentation, and as-built drawings.
- Prepare/review coordination drawings and ensure design information is issued in line with site requirements and construction priorities.
- Raise, track and close RFIs/RFAs and coordinate with consultants for resolution of site-related design issues.
- Review design for completeness, buildability, statutory/ codal compliance, quality, and project requirements.
- Evaluate BOQs,
technical specifications and design quantities and ensure alignment with consultant designs.
- Identify and drive Value Engineering (VE) opportunities while maintaining design intent and project quality.
- Manage and record design variations, design changes, and associated approvals.
- Monitor consultant performance against agreed design milestones and proactively highlight potential delays impacting tendering, procurement, and construction.
- Coordinate with contractors and specialist consultants to resolve construction-related design queries.
- Ensure design deliverables comply with project vision, objectives, budget, quality standards, and timelines.
- Coordinate structural retrofit and MEP-related design requirements, wherever applicable, with the Lead Architect and site team.
