Purpose of the Role
The position is responsible for creation of new infrastructure facilities for new products & improvement in existing facilities, maintenance of all civil ,structure & plumbing facilities to support the smooth functioning of the plant and meet the expected peak market demand.
Job Responsibility
1. New Infrastructure Planning:-
- Conceptualize the infrastructure details & logistics requirements of the new project based on factory layout & equipment planning by the Planning department.
- Facilitate the feasibility study to understand the budget requirements/timelines and alternatives.
- Propose the preliminary infrastructure budget plan based on inputs from the planning team for necessary approvals.
- Review & finalize the preliminary designs developed based on GA drawings from equipment suppliers prior to execution.
- Finalize the execution sanction reports containing the details of various project costs and send it for approval.
- Review the detail design / drawings and provide necessary inputs for improvements (if any)
- Obtain necessary approvals/clarifications post discussion with government/statutory bodies (Factory Inspector) regarding addition of new facilities/buildings in case of escalations.
- Identify, estimate & allocate the resource pools (manpower, machinery, equipment’s etc.) to different sub areas in the various phases.
- Finalize broad timelines for major sub phases and review progress against the planned schedules on a weekly basis along with CPED & planning teams.
- Monitor and control the project activities within the budgeted cost, quality and time schedule by realignment of various resources from time to time.
- Review the MIS reports for the construction areas and forward to the TS head for consolidation on a monthly basis.
2. Vendor Finalization:-
- Approve the vendor list in case of specialized items after reviewing the vendor credentials.
- Finalize the RFQ for ARC(Annual Rate contract) and solicit preliminary quotations from vendors prior to negotiations.
- Coordinate with vendors post PO release to understand their resource mobilization & execution plan
- Make recommendations to P≻ for award of contracts
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education B.E/B. Tech. (Civil Engg.)
- Relevant Experience : 15 years end to end industry Experience (preferably Automobiles )
