Purpose of the Role :

The role is responsible for developing optimal B&T; system concepts in concept generation phase and ensuring requirements cascade across components in B&T; and vehicle systems.

Without this role, potential gaps in compatibility in system components specifications would be detected late in program causing sub-optimal designs and delays

Job Responsibility :

Innovation and Technology roadmap development:

- Create a B&T; Systems roadmap by scanning technology and feature horizon for new opportunities in multi-disciplinary domains and.
- Control TCDS projects and deliver CR gateway on schedule
- System Engg of B&T; features and components to deliver innovative customer experiences and use cases
- Develop system engineering strategies for Performance, Cost, CAPEX and timeline optimization of B&T; Systems

Product Development (Pre-KO)

- Develop engineering proposals and drive new product concepts to maximise BOM/ BOD carry-over content in new programs
- Evaluate engineering risks to Quality, Cost and Timeline, at KO
- Create and develop system structure and interface maps. Evaluate critical interfaces and review with PEs & SMTLs.
- Evaluate compatibility and completeness of component specifications to deliver B&T; system requirements/ PATs
- Benchmarking of interface concepts

Product Development (KO-DR3)

- Drive dimensional compatibility of system components in B&T; system and other vehicle interfaces
- Drive mounting requirements and fitment specifications
- Drive functional requirements cascade across B&T; components and with Chassis and E&E; systems (CSI workflow)
- Drive component & system specifications for compatibility with requirements of functional components
- Evaluate interface issues and develop solution options





People development:

- Cascade of BSC targets to individual KRA’s.
- Monitor performance and provide individual feedback to direct and indirect reports.
- Ensure distribution of responsibilities by deploying the RASIC tool.
- Capture the current and future skills and competency requirements for all roles in CoC.
- Monitor and take corrective measures to bridge gaps in skills and competencies for the department

Desired Candidate Profile

- Post Graduation/ Graduation in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering/ Mechatronics Engineering
- Minimum 3 product development cycles in the role of minimum 2 Body & Trim (B&T;) engineering functions
- 15 +years of work experience in Body & Trim (B&T;) Engineering department
- Automotive Body Engineering
- Automotive Trim Engineering
- Automotive Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Systems Engineering
