Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) with 4–6 years of hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, security, migration, and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in managing and maintaining PostgreSQL databases, database clustering, hardening, patching, migrations, performance optimization, and automation. You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure database availability, reliability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage, maintain, and administer PostgreSQL databases across development, test, and production environments.
- Ensure database availability, performance, integrity, and security.
- Design and implement database architectures and database systems based on business and application requirements.
- Perform database troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Monitor database health, performance metrics, capacity, and resource utilization.
- Configure and manage PostgreSQL database clusters.
- Perform database hardening, patching, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Plan and execute database migrations, including migration to the latest supported PostgreSQL versions.
- Configure and manage Foreign Data Wrappers (FDW) and related database integrations.
- Implement and maintain database replication and high-availability solutions.
- Develop and maintain database maintenance jobs, scripts, and automation tools.
- Manage database users, roles,



privileges, and access controls.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery processes.
- Develop and execute disaster recovery (DR) strategies and procedures.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely solutions.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and operations teams to support application and database requirements.
- Maintain database documentation, standards, procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Ensure databases comply with applicable security and data protection requirements.
- Conduct database capacity planning and proactively identify potential performance or resource issues.
- Support database upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and production deployments.
- Stay current with PostgreSQL features, database technologies, best practices, and industry trends.

Required Skills & Experience
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator.
- Strong experience in PostgreSQL database administration and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with database hardening and patching – Must Have.
- Experience in PostgreSQL cluster setup and configuration – Must Have.




- Strong knowledge of Foreign Data Wrappers (FDW) – Must Have.
- Hands-on experience with database migration, including PostgreSQL version upgrades/migrations – Must Have.
- Experience with database maintenance jobs and automation – Must Have.
- Strong experience in database user and access management – Must Have.
- Strong knowledge of database performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization – Must Have.
- Experience with PostgreSQL replication and high availability – Valuable to Have.
- Good understanding of database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery concepts.
- Strong SQL and database scripting skills.
- Ability to analyze database issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates who have strong hands-on experience managing enterprise PostgreSQL environments, including production troubleshooting, clustering, migrations, security hardening, performance optimization, and database automation, will be preferred.
